Full Preview of the League of Legends Patch 14.16: What to Expect from a New Release
League of Legends is a popular epic game that will offer its fans a world championship called Worlds with a massive prize pool in 2024. This year, it will take place in European countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. It will attract 20 of the best LoL teams, so this event will be a perfect time for LoL esports betting. But it isn't the only good news regarding LoL that attracts fans' attention. The game is constantly developing and improving, so the preview of the latest LoL patch 14.16 from David "Phreak" Turley has become another great news!
Riot Phreak provided a detailed summary of the changes introduced in the patch, including a solo queue and pro-play focus. The game development team is working on the changes to add fairness to a solo queue. Some of the examples include penalties given by top laners for solo kills, ADCs are likely to get more item nerfs, and underused champions getting buffs instead.
LoL Patch 14.16 Preview Notes
The latest patch brings players a range of ranked matchmaking improvements. According to Riot Phroxzon's tweet, the start of the season caused the team to discuss many issues to find a balance between the red and blue sides.
Thanks to a careful analysis, they have come to the conclusion of what areas need optimization. The latest adjustments made in the previous patch led to the modifications in the red side camera angle, which enhanced the gameplay significantly. At the same time, the team admits to the necessity of doing more work in this direction and coping with these issues fully.
The Lead Gameplay designer of the League of Legends explained 4 main points they are going to address in LoL patch 14.16.
- A better balance between team players. The development team has identified ways to enhance the balance of individual matches. The main focus is on high-level play with smaller player pools, which makes it more challenging to make matches fair. Their purpose is to provide more equitable matchups and minimize the frequency when players finish a game being on the same side multiple times.
- Optimized side balancing. Riot is working to improve team balance by side, which usually can be noticed in high MMR Brackets. Such improvements will make match competitions more fair.
- Enhanced off-role balance. The development team has invented ways to better match players in secondary positions and off-roles and not increase queue time. This can result in more balance in the experience of playing roles that differ from primary ones.
- Improved returning players' experience. It isn't a secret that players who return to the game after a specific period need time to get their form back. To cope with this challenge, the team decided to adjust the way rank and skill decays occur after a long break. The main goal is to minimize the number of difficult matches for players who have just returned.
LoL Patch 14.16 Champion Buffs
There are eight popular characters who may undergo improvements in this patch. According to Riot Phreak, a vast majority of buffs can be used only for the solo queue. It would be great if you see them in a pro or create diversity. At the same time, players shouldn't try to buff weak things even if they have acquired a champion mastery.
For example, Katarina experiences the closure of the Q/E max gap and gets stronger raw AP builds thanks to buffing ratios. Skarner will get juggernaut builds to improve his early game, too. The numbers applied to Wukong have been updated because of the typo.
LoL Patch 14.16 Champion Nerfs
The main changes are made to Corki and Lucian. They aim at the high-level and pro solo queue, where they face the domination of their pick rates.
LoL Patch 14.16 Champion Adjustments
These changes take Lucian, Senna, and Qiyana. The last one is likely to gain better control at the beginning of the game and improve her secondary jungle role. The team believes that she will also become more forgiving and offer smoother play.
Adjustments planned for Senna will create more obstacles on her way to being a 'primary carry' if she doesn't get gold income, similar to an ADC. This will make her stronger together with other ADCs and a little weaker with tanks. As a result, she will achieve more balance between professional play and solo queue.
As you can see, Lol Patch 14.16 will bring about many great changes that will surely impact the play and add more balance in a variety of spheres.
