This game is REALLY impressive. The physics are really well implemented. You should release a new version with sound effects. I didn’t advance past level 5, as it gets quite tricky. I might come back again.

\n

I feel like i’m missing a keyboard button to play/stop. Your description seems to imply there is one, but I couldn’t find it.

Thank you! I had spacebar on the list of todo’s, my 8 year old daughter told me to add it; just ran out of time and space.

Level 5 needs a J shape to stop and catch the ball, 3 short non-bouncy platforms will do it.

I will upload a tutorial video soon.

The 2d physics are impressive and the concept is fun & innovative. According to me the difficulty might be a little bit more progressive (more budget at the beginning, introduce progressively the tools,…) but it is really fun to play! I think you have found a real concept and you could develop it in a post jam game. Congrats!

Very cool idea, not something I’ve expected to see in 13kb.\nUnfortunately there are some issues with components and controls. I’ve tried to use bridge to catch ball, but it kept infinitely readjusted when it had a ball on it. High tension platform was a bit too fidly and I didn’t manage to build a launcher for level 6 even after looking at example on level 5. And IMO it would have been better to use right click for delete, not adding balls.

I almost took bridges out due to a bug I introduced which means the ball pulls the platforms upwards. The physics and math got more complex than I thought.

\n

Bridges are not that useful but look fun.

\n

To beat level 5 a simple “J” shape can be used to top and catch the ball.

I would like to rebuild the UI completely as its not great but time and space were limited :D

I think maybe there needs to be an easy mode :D I couldn’t get past the first stage (I trapped the ball in the circle, but it cost me 210 pounds to do so).

\n

Despite that, I still had fun. I’ll come back and try again later!

Thanks for testing the game, if you do have time to replay, a high bounce platform under the ball will bounce it toward the target, a simple V shape non-bouncy platform (which is cheaper) can watch the ball.

\n

I will post a tutorial video soon! The game was difficult to complete within the 13kb and have space for tutorials which is a shame but I hope to make a directors cut!

This is really awesome!!! And ultra mega hard, whoa! I wish there was a tutorial that pointed out the bounce and tension sliders with a big flashing arrow because, I’m embarrassed to say, I played for a looong time before realizing I could change them, somehow they were invisible to my eyes! now I feel silly!!! Sometimes, I couldn’t figure out how to undo or make changes, and attempting to move a pin resulted in a new line being drawn? I wished so hard that ctrl-z UNDO was a thing in this one, as I often made unintended changes to my solution and couldn’t figure out how to get back to what I had on the previous attempt. This shows incredible promise for a very fun physics machine puzzle game. I warmly recommend unlocking all levels for people who want to skip a level when they get frustrated or stuck, just to see all the goodness and play other cool levels, then come back to the one that has you stumped, all fresh and re-motivated! Very nice work.

Thank you for the feedback much appreciated, I put so much effort into getting everything working I ran out of space and time to add in tutorials.

\n

The game needs a complete new UI and simpler controls and I am wondering if Bridges are at all needed!?

\n

It is possible to draw a platform and then “edit” a joint by dragging it to resize or change the angle, you can also move platforms but when they are small that is difficult.

\n

I am going to make a directors cut of this game which will need a lot more than 13kb!

I kindly respect your work on putting down a physics engine to build this, but you have completely overlooked the game-play aspects that should make this into a fun game. And yes, I am talking about the size of the target area, it should be way bigger to not punish players for their accuracy. Instead aim to award players for their engagement.

Really cool sandbox game! I managed to figure it out, probably because I had been following the development process on X. I feel like this is one of those games where it’s fun to explore and experiment on your own, without hints. I think it could be improved by adding some goals or mechanics that let things trigger each other in a chain reaction. Instead of a tutorial, you could add a few simple preset levels with just 1-2 actions required to complete the puzzle, so the player can clearly see the fun results of your physics engine. Great project, really well done!

What a fun physics simulator to play around with, packed with tons of features. It was surprisingly difficult to complete a level, and it took some time before I found the “budget” limitation. It took almost 10 minutes to complete the two first levels for me. Once I better understood the mechanics, for example that we can change the tension of platforms and so on, it became a lot easier. It also has replayability, since we can try to find other solutions with less budget.

\n

It was a bit difficult to change the position of the bridges, and I had to delete and re-add them (maybe there’s a better way.) The regular platforms were easier to edit.

I liked the idea and feels like the game is very challenging to make, like from UX and gameplay perspective. In terms of controls, I was thinking that it would be nice to reserve right-click for deleting items so you don’t need to cycle through the buttons or at least to have a shortcut.

\n

Also for me the bridge was not holding the ball tide (I thought that it would be nice to to use it as a net to catch it), since it was rolling back and force and I could not score. I assume at some point it should stop unless you have a perpetuum mobile :) Probably, polishing physics a bit can help.
