In XIII century citizens of small town named Kłodzko (formerly known as Glatz or Cladzco) started expanding their basements. After some time, they managed to create complex network of rooms, halls and tunnels. In this underground city, they had shops, wells, taverns, counting rooms, doctor’s office and… prison.

\n

Criminals captured and sent to the prison were then trailed in court, and often treated with appropriate kindness by the executioners.

\n

You are one of those lucky prisoners! Can you escape from the underground maze? How many ways of escaping can you find? And are you ready to die, like a lot?

\n

XIII Feet Underground is RPG-like game, with roguelike mechanics.\nExplore Kłodzko’s underground city, interact with it’s citizens, reveal dark secrets of people.\nThere are multiple ways of reaching the end.\nBut watch out! You should not trust everybody!

G’day!

\n

Quite an interesting topic (it was interesting to read about your topic on Google :D) and the game plot is no less interesting! I also liked the level design!

\n

The font does not seem very clear, but the voice accompaniment solves this issue. It was quite interesting to play, I was pleased with the versatility of the result!

\n

It was nice to see a friend from prison in the brewery :D, but unfortunately I couldn’t find a way to infect the outside water so that people could buy water from the well merchant in the dungeon. I also did not understand the purpose of the elixir, but I think there should have been a lot of interesting things :)

\n

Beautiful graphics, simple and intuitive.

\n

It seemed to me that the sound continues to play even after the end of the dialogue, it would be good to fix it. It feels like sometimes I can’t start the game because the movement buttons are unresponsive…

\n

Sounds like good potential for story expansion to me… I enjoyed the game!

\n

Thanks for game!

Can’t believe you fit all this in, text and raster art can be so heavy. Funny little story with multiple endings, easy to play, lots of fun. Good stuff.

Unfortunately, I could not properly move: I have “search as you type” enabled in my browser, and you don’t call .preventDefault() on key events, so when I try to move, the page search opens for me.

Pleasant oldschool visuals, simple controls, and fits the theme well. The text-to-speech was very impressive! Nice job.

nice, you should try to not only support WASD but also arrow keys / ZQSD (for foreign keyboard models)

A really fun and well put together game.

\n

The pixel graphics were good, the rooms and exploring linked together well.

\n

Went into the Innkeeper’s stash and found all the items I needed after picking them up from other places, which made me laugh.

\n

The speech was neat. Only thing I would change is making the WASD keys work several at a time, I seemed to only be able to go in one direction, not diagonally.

\n

Nicely done.

Hey there!

\n

Fun little adventure game here.\nWith a little bit of voice acting as well!

\n

Some humour, nice characters, tbh it’s really well done.

Nice one!

Oh, I enjoyed this one. Really effective graphics, a good sense of humor, and the surprise text to speech use!

\n

It was like a tiny little Lucas Arts adventure, boiled down into 13k. Great job!

Interesting game, the whole quest with several characters, stories and items.\nFor me the controls are too fast (i’m flying threw the tunnels, it’s really hard to catch some door), but in general it’s playable.\nSome endings are unexpected, you can’t predict this result with your action. Maybe it’s ok for such small game.\nGood job!

Really funny dialogue and consequences for your actions. The voice only made it funnier.

\n

I was able to escape!

Nice tiny RPG!

Hi there Rafał,

\n

Really interesting game! I liked many aspects of this, and thought you had a great submission. Here’s my feedback:

\n
    \n
  1. Found a bug when talking to the banker where if you pickup 2 beers, sell one of them, then the next one you try to sell will ask you to input “10” but you can’t do that on a 1-9 keyboard without accidentally selecting ‘1’ first.
  2. \n
  3. Liked how you added audio too it
  4. \n
  5. From a UI perspective, the WASD controls were self explanatory although I found some of the control options on dialogs to be confusing (switching from letters to characters). I’d suggest keeping it consistent with the WASD being for movement, perhaps e for interaction, but then options always being numeric.
  6. \n
  7. I tried the game a couple of times and it looks like the outcomes are all predictable - it would be great to introduce an element of randomness to small pieces such as the pickpocketing.
  8. \n
  9. I would suggest using typescript and including eslint and stylelint for better code standardization for community contributions
  10. \n
  11. Why include ts-ignore? It shouldn’t be necessary to use ts-ignore - perhaps this is a solution? https://chat.openai.com/share/cdf43203-2caa-461d-a402-c77cd48c40ed
  12. \n
\n

Overall, really great submission and I look forward to seeing what’s next! Feel free to hit me up on Twitter/X @jedihacks to have a discussion!
