Explore the world of emojis! All graphics are emojis! Cure zombies and get pets!

\n

Arrow keys to move. Space/Enter/Escape to interact.\nDrag to reorder your emojis.\nSwipe up to release an emoji. If you have too many it may be hard to select them.\nTap to rename.

Note: To restart the game you have to clear your localStorage. There are sometimes bugs with saved games after you refresh.

I have to say, when I saw the pictures I wasn’t sure about an “emoji” game. But once I started playing you could see the insane attention to detail. The parallax scrolling, the SHADOWS, the effects, the day night cycle, the different interactions in your room and world, like, wow.

\n

I wish I had more control over the little zombie pet battles! I kind of felt like there was nothing I could do and I died.

\n

Amazing presentation though, really cool.

Clever use of emoji, and many details to the environment. I wish we had the same focus on the game play, because I have zero control right now. I can refresh the page to respawn and continue playing. I never found professor X after I got the parcel. He wasn’t at the end of the forest either. Maybe I missed a crucial part of the game.

\n

I was also curious about the NEAR integration, but I’m not sure what it’s doing right now. I’m guessing we save our data to the contract?

\n

From the cover image, it looks like we’re able to capture zombie emojis, but I never figured out how to do that. The game has potential, and reminds me a lot of Pokemon Red and Blue. It looks like the story is take directly from the game, which is just fun!

Cool idea and looks great! But it feels like it is all down to luck. On my first run with “Big Bro” I made it to the forest with three more emojis, but died because there was a battle every few step. On the second run with “Fishie” I didn’t even make it to the second city.

\n

Not sure if it is was on purpose, but I was amused that the package can also fight.

A well though out narrative, makes for a fun game.

\n

The controls are intuitive. There’s a bit of a pokemon vibe.

\n

Technically the graphics work well and the shadows and parallax give it another dimension. I also like the say the lighting changes as the sun and moon go up and down.

Funny use of emojis, I enjoyed your creativity.\nThe game was too slow for my liking, but it was interesting to play.

I like the use of emojis, the shadows, day-night cycle and parallax scrolling.

\n

I wonder if the game continues after the forest, whenever I reach the end of that scene I can’t go any further. Also, I wonder if the legend is true and I can meet a dragon at night :)

\n

It would be nice if there were more options during fights, i.e. different attacks and an option to flee.

Amazing use of emoji! I did not think such a detailed game could be made with just those little characters. The pokemon vibes were suuuuper strong. The music and sound effects were on point.

\n

I didn’t make it very far, delivering the package to Professor X got me killed. Had some graphics rendering issues on Firefox, some emojis were clipped around the edges, but it didn’t affect gameplay.

\n

Absolutely well done game, great job.

This is the funniest game this year for me.\nYou need to figure out some issues with controls, like if my emojimon is outside the screen, I can’t click it and the game sends in hearts instead. But the controls are easy enough and quite responsive.\nThe fact the package is able to fight is fricking hilarious. And draging my knocked our emojis along the way too.\nThere are also several visual glitches too unfortunately. All the emoji are very blurry. This could be fixed by using font-size instead of scaling probably. Also many emoji appear cut at times, not sure why. Emoji are really useful but can also be a pain to work with.\nCool that you added music but it sounds a little weird for this kind of game to be honest.\nAmazing job.

Huge graphics, it was really fun to find the beginning of pokemon made in 2D/emojis! Really interesting to find a design made with that, plus shadows/sun/night!\nAudio is really nice too!\nBut the game itself is a bit empty, I would have love to fight a bit more, at least a qte system to hit/block, and I don’t really find the link with “death” theme.

Those are some big emojis! Clever use of the graphics we get for “free” or few bytes.

\n

I think I echo the thoughts of the other people in the comments section, a few improvements are needed on the control and balance.

The game seemed fun and clearly had a lot of thought put into it. Was not very clear on the near integration and the utility there, however the emojis were cool.\nEnjoyed it overall .

I love this has been inspired by Pokemon Red/Blue!

Building a whole map out of emojis is super impressive! Fun take on pokemon. Would love to see deeper integration with smart contracts, an emoji breeding functionality might be a fun way to start

I was happy to see someone hardly using emojis to build the game scene, also the shadows and light changes… Very good! I know you have no time to finish the game, so its graphics glitches sometimes and the history has no ending, but it was a great concept proof.

Loved all the subtle references/homages, to dragon warrior/pokemon/ and others. And can bunny hop around like phoon!
