Welcome spectators! The renowned Witch World Cup of the year 1276 is about to start!\nThe contestants will race each other on four different courses, one harder than the other!\nBeware of low flying brooms and jinxes!
\nYou play the witch dressed in classic black.
\nUse [Arrow]-Keys or [WASD] to steer your witch (up = accelerate, down = break, left and right to turn the broom)
\nUse [Space] to cast a jinx that will stun your opponent (if you can hit her)
\nUse [Escape] during the race to pause and display some options (restart, abort, continue)
\nThe Jinx-Cooldowntime and the brooms speed/turnrate may be updated using your earned witchcraftpoints.
\nThe music during the race is a cover version of “Furatum Alci Provinciam” by CORVUS CORAX (Die Könige der Spielleute! Go check them out!)
\nSpecial thanks to Castus (and Norri, Hatz, Micha, Victor, Xandru and Alex) from Corvus Corax and Doro Peters from Absolut Promotion for the granted permission to use the composition!\nThe song was created using Soundbox from sb.bitsnbites.eu

Super cool! Love the particle effects, love the graphics, and the racing is quite fun.
\nThis is a game that would greatly benefit from controller support. I found it quite hard to turn, brake and accelerate all with arrow keys. Using triggers for acceleration and braking and an analog for steering would really add a lot!. I would have also liked to see some different backgrounds.
\nStill, really fun game, I really like the little dirt trail details. I played quite a bit. I even stuck a breakpoint in just for fun and gave myself 999999 witch points. I was interested to learn that there is no limit on speed or turning ability ha! I made them so high the game was unplayable, but it was still cool just to play around with. Nice game!

\nI have the feeling that the controls have a little “life of their own”, it was never fully clear when I would be able to take a turn and when I would just crash into a tree. Sometimes I would over-steer trying to avoid an obstacle only to find my witch turning exactly in the direction I didn’t want to (didn’t end well). Would be awesome if colliding with another witch would end up in a small fist-fight pushing both witches sideways instead of just penalizing you and making you lose speed. The crashing particle effect and jinx look very similar to me, which was confusing at first.
\nDespite this, when you manage to speed up, the feeling is very cool :)

\nI like the fist-fight-idea :-)
\nThe intention behind only punishing the player is, that the cpu-witches have a tiny advantage, as a skilled player is always better than them. Especially when throttle is handled well: let go of the forward-key before sharp corners or even brake a bit ;-)
\nThe collisions are even designed to deflect the player (just turn him a few degrees to the direction where no collision would occur), when the angle of the crash is flat enough. That often works with the trees.

\nThe vegetation looks decent! Nice touch, prerendering a lot of different trees and rocks.
\nSadly the music didn’t play for me, but I searched on YouTube and it totally smashes, great song.

Once you upgrade it becomes easier **
\nReally cool entry! Managed to win all of the races, got my speed up to about 8, turning 7 and reload to about 6. So had spent quite a lot of points I think. At one before upgrades I thought backwards felt faster and tried to race in reverse and almost won :D
\nGraphics are nice, interested to see how you implemented the trees and dirt.
\nMusic is simple but affective, sound fx a little quiet.
\nReally enjoyed playing this, great gameplay. I found one bug, I opened the dev tooks which messed up the track size and the computer all got stuck in a narrow track :D
\nOverall a great entry!

I love how the witch and broomstick rotate when we turn, and the added bullet/spell makes the race more forgiving since I’m able to overtake someone in front of me by hitting them with my magic.\nThe particle effects are subtle, yet effective. The music also captures the essence of the theme.
\nThe upgrades are a nice addition and helps with replay-ability.\nA few things I wish the game had:
\nI think this game could have worked well with local multiplayer as well. I would love to play it together with my son.

\nBut I see you might have intended the progression where player earns points to upgrade the broomstick!
\nNever played a racing game on broomsticks, but this was a fun take of racing might’ve been in 13th century. The cast-a-jinx is cheeky, and I like how you are able to upgrade your broom via the points you earn.
\nI like the smoke effect when you accelerate. Nice touch. The tracks are also interesting - navigating the corners and turns require a bit of skill from the player, so that’s great as well.
\nAudio is great, captures the vibe of possibly 13th century racing!
\nI think this game has the potential to be something more - i can see it as a race game people would be fond of playing because of how interesting the tracks are!

The gameplay and the flying of the broom feels very nice. I also like the art style and graphics a lot. Maybe the music was a bit repretitive after a while, but I know that it is hard to incorporate longer tracks into 13 KB. Amazing what you were able to create with just 13 KB!
