A young vagabond is adopted/abducted (abdopted?) and enters the patronage of a wealthy and powerful personage; they are introduced and then immersed in the shadowy world of King of Cards - a mysterious and possibly supernatural tournament of 1:1 duels where the only weapons are quick eyes and keen minds.

\n

The goal of each match is to find a set of three cards that are a “true trinity” faster than your opponent.

\n

Each trinity card has four aspects: illustration, inner border, color and count. Each aspect has three possible variations.

\n

True trinity is balance and harmony. Each of the four aspects of a true trinity card must either fully align or stand unique among its partners.

\n

False trinity lacks balance. For two cards an aspect’s form aligns, but for their third it does not. One is a lost soul and true trinity is impossible.

Neat idea! I didn’t get it at first, but once it clicked I enjoyed playing a few rounds. I really like the little cutscene of travelling to the next match, adds nice atmosphere, as does the well cued audio.

\n

Nice one!

I didn’t get it. The two tutorials did not seem to teach me anything.

\n

Graphics are very nice though. I love the paper look!\nMusic and sounds are very fitting for the game.\nI really would have liked to understood it.

The tutorials really should share the reasons why you won and don’t need to be randomized. I also had issues seeing all 12 cards when in the browser. the rest went off the screen.

\n

The music is excellent and works perfectly for this game, so I really enjoyed that. Keep it up. You have the right idea.

My kids have a very similar card game called “Set”.

\n

Good version of this gameplay, nice matching graphics and sound

I am afraid I didn’t understand what to do, using the two tutorials. It’s a pity, because the graphics and sound are really nice and somehow I think that if I could understand it, I would also appreciate it. Nice job!

I had no idea what was going on until I read the comment saying this was a version of the game “Set”. Good use of the theme to reinvent this classic.\nThere were a couple visual glitches (cards drawn outside bounds, text overlapping) but otherwise I quite like the graphics.\nIf this is a single player game, I don’t see the point in having the big red button. It just confused me at first.

This game is similar to the “set” boardgame. It is really well done: I like the graphics and the sound. However I spent lot of time to understand how to play (first click on “Strike / Claim”, then click on each individual card of the trinity). I think you could improve the tutorial part.

It took me a long time to find out how to play; I had to refer to the help text, outside of the game, several times, to try to figure it out :P

\n

So, of course, it would have been best for the tutorials to make a better effort to teach the player the game (or maybe even have some narrative, heck, just adding the instructions to a help button you could check at any time, with a couple of examples, would have sufficed)

\n

That’s the end of the feedback to improve because, other than that, I loved this entry and I’m glad I stuck to it until I had learned. There’s a fun and challenging game here!

\n

Graphics and audio are also top notch.

\n

Also, the cards didn’t wrap up properly in the voting site, had to play outside.

\n

My preferred setup is 6 cards, 3 points, for now!

\n

Thank you!

Really nice visuals, overall well executed but would have benefitted from more explicit instruction.

\n

After figuring out how to play I really enjoyed it. I think the words “Strike Claim” were confusing, and at first I thought it was two separate buttons telling me either to “strike” non-trinity cards or “claim” trinity.

\n

I didn’t understand how/if the Duel Choices affected the play or the difficulty. It seems too ‘easy’ that I had as much time as I wanted to inspect the cards before I could click the button to go and immediately selecting the trinity.

Nice graphics and gameplay.\nCards design is readable.\nGame on higher difficulty level can be challenging.\nI appreciate match customization options.

\n

Tutorial levels don’t explain why you win / loose (although instructions in game description explain rules sufficiently).

\n

Sometimes cards don’t wrap properly and end up in line beyond screen (lowering window height helps in these case).
