You are tasked with preparing King Tut to make the journey from death to the afterlife. Solve the two puzzles to complete the task.

The puzzles are pretty decent. It would be good to have something once they are both completed though.

The pillar puzzle was a bit difficult, because I wasn’t able to map the eggs to the pillars. I didn’t know which egg was for which pillar, and which direction they were supposed to face. Maybe I’d figure it out after playing a bit more, but I got too frustrated xD

\n

The graphics are nice, and I like how the game is a puzzle in a puzzle

I really liked the escape room vibe. The pillar puzzle took me a while to work out, but I got there in the end, and that puzzle in particular reminded me of an escape room. I was expecting a door or panel to open up but couldn’t see anything that had changed. This would be a lot of fun with more rooms and puzzles.

I played the first puzzle and it was fine. I don’t like this kind of puzzle, having played it so many times.\nBut the one about the organs, I have simply no clue what I’m supposed to do. Furthermore, you relied heavily on emoji for decoration, and they don’t appear on my system. From your screenshot, I think they were suppose to be animals? I only saw empty squares. I believe that might be important information to solve the second puzzle.

Hard on VR (Ocusul Quest 2) headset to control the puzzle, only managed to move a few pieces then was unable to move them.

\n

The room looked good. Also if you are sat down you cannot see the top of the table.

How well was the topic of death integrated into the game?\nPreparing the way to the afterlife for King Tut is a good idea.\nThe game itself has relatively little to do with death.\nHow well was the game optimized for 13 kilobytes?\nGood compression using JS13K starter kit, size mostly achieved by compression and limited content.\nHow well was the game adapted for WebXR?\nThe game was very well aligned for VR. I have a room with 3D objects that I can walk around and look at from all sides.\nHow is the design of the game?\nThe color scheme matches the Egyptian theme.\nThe shapes are very simple and at the same time well chosen and fitting for the scenario.\nThere are some free areas without texture, which reduces the immersive experience.\nHow is the game interface (intuitive)?\nIt is clear what to do and where to click even without explanation.\nHow I move or interact should be explained in the game. The walls offer great potential for this.\nHow is the game experience, getting started, understanding, fun?\nIt is a puzzle game and a puzzle in itself generates intrinsic motivation. The puzzles are fun, not too easy and not too hard. The one puzzle in itself is clear, but the integration of the whole room as a hint for the second puzzle, I find very well done.\nThere is no long-term motivation. There is no reason to play again after reaching the end once.\nOne option would be to change the image on the board puzzle and randomly swap the position and orientation of the pillars.

I liked the look of the graphics in the screenshots.

\n

The columns were covered in what looked like boxes with unicode on them, I guess I don’t have the right graphics / font installed to make it work.

\n

The text eminating from the green discs didn’t fit their cards, there was overspill on the right hand side - maybe another font issue?

\n

I completed the puzzle on the table, but nothing really happened? I couldn’t find a second puzzle? If it was related to rotating the canopic jars I couldn’t do it because again all the textures were missing

\n

With the right graphics, I can see how this would be more fun.

The puzzles were fun and I liked having the facts about King Tut. Graphics were pretty good and the sound effects and controls were fine. My two complaints are that I wish there was some background music or wispy sound effects to add some mood, and I wish something would happen when you solve both puzzles, like a thank you from King Tut or similar.

\n

Bonus point for making it work inside of a standalone VR headset.

Both the sliding puzzle and the rotation/matching puzzle worked for me. The graphics are decent (note I played on browser and not in VR) and sound effects were simple but worked.

\n

The tone of the game is a little confusing – the puzzles remind me of a little of an escape room or a puzzle sequence in a Resident Evil / Tomb Raider game, but the informative panels make it feel more like you’re in an interactive museum. A cool way to tie the two together would be to replace the floating dots with in-game “posters” (you could still click them to read them more closely), and then make them part of the puzzles… reading the poster gives you some clue that you would need to have to solve the puzzle.

I like the egyptian theme. The puzzles are original too and the controls feels nice when interacting with them. It could be nice to see a polished version of this one after the contest it could be really fun game

Great and unique concept, and verry fitting to the Theme, too! I liked the informative panels, although it would have been even better to see more of those aspects in the room itself.

\n

The sliding puzzle is great, but I could not get past the second puzzle, which I believe were in the rotating jars. A hint system would work great here to help players who miss the puzzle, so that we can complete the experience.

I love the tomb choice to match with the theme, this is really well done.

\n

The graphics are pretty well done as well as the VR immersion. A bit more dynamicity on the textures vs flat color could have helped a bit improve this part.

\n

Regarding the puzzles, Great job on finding the exact balance fun/frustration which is usually a pretty painful task.

\n

I would have loved a hidden trap/door to open after successfully finishing the puzzles.

\n

Well done for this great entry !!!

A very unique idea! I solved both puzzles, but I think I enjoyed the education aspect more. In fact, I wish the room was smaller (as one of the label mentions) and perhaps even reflected the actual layout of the tomb?
