Extremely clever idea and I had quite some fun playing it.

It took me a while to understand that you select a catapult by hovering it with the mouse. That’s not clear from the UI. So I instinctively was clicking to select, but that also make them stronger. It would be better if you click to select, and then click again to make them stronger.\nIt was also not clear at all that the yellow chestnut was an item to fix the catapult.

There’s some level of strategy to the game, but ultimately whether you win or loose is strongly down to luck which makes the game less fun and that made me stop playing. But it has potential and I would play an improved version of this idea for sure.

Fun little game! Easy to learn & play.

A few things I would change:

I have mixed feelings about how the game ends. We have numbered levels which suggests that there might be a pre-defined ending, but the game keeps scaling the difficulty up until the player reaches a level that is likely mathematically impossible to win. I would’ve preferred a defined ending, such as a final boss on level 5 where the enemy can move around the map.

The mechanics work really well, it’s a really fun concept and didn’t expect to enjoy it that much.\nSome better design or environment decors would have made it even better!\nA little music too would have made the game feel more complete.

I do agree with others that a little tutorial explaining the actions you can do could help, but I did get it during the first level.

Gameplay was a little confusing as the instructions per round wasn’t clear. Could have been a little clearer if there was an indication whether it was still the player’s turn or AI’s.

Having to figure out the strategy to outmaneuver the opponent made the experience interesting and less predictable. I like how you can also reposition the trebuchets, adds an additional layer of strategy to the game.

As for controls, what might have made it better when you highlight a trebuchet and it shows the percentage of success hovering over each tower.

For Level 2, I don’t understand why the towers are able to go multiple rounds shooting down my trebuchets. Not clear as to why this is the case. Maybe

Fun strategy game. The UI took a little getting used to with the hovering mechanic being a bit surprising and the movement range of the trebuchet not being marked, but beyond that I had fun playing through a few rounds. Nice work!
