The colors and small screen size feel pretty unique! Main menu and maps look nice, too.
\nOne thing I’m curious about is how the game takes place in such a small part of the screen. I don’t dislike it necessarily (feels even more unique), but there’s a lot of space above/around the “fish and hook collision area”.
\nBut anyway, it’s a cool and relaxing game!

\nFeedback:
\nI like the backgrounds. The mechanic is somewhat innovative. It would make a good mini-game in a bigger game. Just like fishing, it’s kind of boring. The music was somewhat unpleasant.

Once I realized it was always the same spot, it felt repetitive which held me from playing more levels.

\nYou have music, menus, a game loop etc just no variation. All fish act the same and its the same method to catch them all.
\nNice pixel art also!

The graphics and audio work together to create a fresh feeling, it actually reminded me a lot of a GBA game. As mentioned some gameplay variety would have gone a long way, but easier said than done in this competition. Great work.

\nWhile a bit more depth and variety would be nice (multiple fish, some faster and slower, different fish weights, different lures, etc), I think the biggest issue for me is being bombarded with popups I have to close. Don’t make users sit through a loading screen if you’re not loading anything, thats being actively hostile to a user. Show the hints in small windows at the top of the screen so they don’t interfere with my navigation or gameplay and have them go away after a certain amount of time.
\nThe graphics are nice and if you just tweak some navigation and gameplay I think it’s a really nice basis for a fun relaxing fishing game

\nI’m a complete sucker for fishing games and honestly, this was pretty fun :) You can pick from a variety of lakes to fish from, and you simply have to keep the float lined-up with the fish as it swims left and right. Hold it for long enough, until progress hits 100% and you catch it.
\nAnd that’s it really. The fish get a little more tricky the further you get, but not a whole lot. There isn’t much challenge here, but in a way, there doesn’t need to be. It’s still quite engaging. The only downside is that you have to take your eyes off the fish in order to check both the progress % and time left. Perhaps a shift in the UI could help here? i.e. a progress bar above your rod, or similar. I would have liked to see the fish actually ‘caught’ too, but I appreciate there’s only 13kb. Bonus points for the music from the Atari ST too :)

\nThe music sounds familiar, is it a cover of some sort?
