Works well, nice sound FX on the explosions. I like the idea of limited ammo. but if you shoot too quickly its a long round to wait out.

Nice. I think when you have depleted your ammo the enemies should speed up a lot so the round can end faster as there’s nothing to do but watch then roll down the screen slowly.

Nice and enjoyable missile defense game. At first I didn’t realize that the missiles explode exactly where I clicked—I thought the mouse cursor only set the direction and the missiles exploded on impact. Once I discovered this detail, the gameplay clicked for me, and so did the ammo limit. I would try to wait certain enemies out based on their trajectories and only launch a missile when I had a chance to take out a few of them in one blow.

I enjoyed the poetic intro screen, as well as the vector-like shapes of the aliens. For some reason, they made me think of the winter holidays :)

Missile Command redone, would need a bit of game balancing. Missiles are scarce and enemies at the far side take a long time to reach – if your first shot fails, there is not enough time left for a second one. Reducing the screen actually makes the game easier !

Gfx are reminiscent of the Vectrex console, you may want to go for full retro look. Sfx get repetitive quickly, the beatbyte at the beginning is nicely done but could be improved with a longer melody. Nice use of speech API, how about announcing levels too ?

Fun little game. It reminds me a bit of Math Blaster :) I enjoyed your space poem/music, but it made me want a game track! Solid entry.

A fun little missile command type game

At first on mobile nothing happened until I pressed the screen. I thought it had crashed at first. Maybe it was waiting for user interaction to make the audiocontext. But if this was the case something on screen to indicate this would be good

This is a missile command variant at heart. 13 spikey stars will descend slowly down and you need to perfectly time the shot to take them out. Unlike the Atari original, when your missile explodes that’s it - there’s no expanding radius of explosion in which to capture the baddies, ideally capturing multiple ones at once. So in this game you have to be absolutely utterly perfect in your aim, otherwise you’re out of missiles within seconds and then have to sit and watch as the baddies slowly float to the bottom of the screen. I liked the intro message and music! It has a nice beat and pace to it, which seems to be lost when the game starts. It feels like some tweaks here and there would really have elevated this: maybe you don’t run out of missiles? Maybe a hit gets you some more? Or if you do run out, the remaining spikes should fall much much faster so the next level starts. Ideally, though, when the missile explodes it should expand so you can capture other enemies with a single shot. Strangely, the thumbnail for this game on js13k implies that may actually happen in later levels? But sadly I didn’t get past level 3 because I just wasn’t engaged enough. If the game does introduce that later, then I really wish it had done so from the start.
