A classic RTS game in the style of Warcraft and Starcraft. Obliterate your opponent and leave no surviving units or buildings to win. THERE CAN BE ONLY DEATH.

\n

Instructions and controls:\nMove camera with arrow keys, or move mouse to sides of the screen. Click on minimap to quickly move the camera around the map.\nClick on units and buildings to select them, right click to move to location or location on minimap. You can click drag to select multiple units. Units will automatically attack nearby units.\nSelect a shade and right click a mine to gather minerals. Shades can construct buildings (bases and barracks). Build Shades at Bases and other units at Barracks by selecting the building and clicking the icons in the bottom right.

Very bold of you to make an RTS! I really enjoyed playing it. I obviously wished that there were more types of buildings! I was confused about the requisites to build the barracs. I assumed that more resources were needed? I just waited around until it was available but it would be nice to see some costs (Maybe there were but I just didn’t see it?). I also didn’t find out how to create the mega big units that are in one of the bases.

Fun! But also a bit too easy because the enemy never attacks your base. Some more buildings would have been nice, too.

Really nice to create en RTS in 13kb!\nNice execution, many creatures, multi selection, pathfinding are really nice! Nice music too!\nI’d just have loved more explanations ingame at the beginning (get info for mine, shade). and creature stats / cost

I liked the game! Very impressive to make a RTS game for this jam! I would liked it more if there were mechanics about death and the scrolling screen was better to control, maybe with the mouse.

Hello! Thanks for your submission to js13k!\nI’m sure you’ve worked hard on your game, but I’m not aware of how much time you spent on it, so excuse me if things I mention were in your mind, but got left out in the rush of the month :)

\n\n

Thank you once again!

Really fun RTS game, loved the graphics and how well most of it worked. However, the selection of multiple units sometimes did not work. Also, this game does not perfectly cover the theme of “death” in my opinion.

Impressive! Very strong RTS entry. Controls felt good. Pixel art looks great. Music is great. I imagine its very difficult to tune the difficulty of an RTS . Great job!

Fun game, and it’s definitely a different move to do an RTS. Great music and art style. Could be an excellent game with some refining.

\n

As others have said there are a few issues too.

\n

For me these were mainly in regard to the lack of challenge from enemies and resource scarcity. I also wasn’t able to select multiple units at once.

\n

It would be great to see a fully balanced RTS in this style.

\n

Overall, great job.

Oh wow! I can only imagine what a big task building a game like this was. I am impressed with how the game has come along so far. It would be great to iron out those final bugs. Mainly to do around the construction of buildings and being able to select options. The music was great.

This game has a fun command and conquer vibe.

\n

Funky music.

\n

Great that you could move the minimap in 3 ways, cursors, clicking and screen edge.

\n

The multi-select didn’t always work, had to try a few times.

\n

It would be good to see health levels of characters.\nOne of the enemy camps had a huge enemy, which I didn’t see that I could build.

\n

Also I’d like to know what the difference between the different things I could build was, in terms of buildings and characters.

\n

A thoroughly fun game, well done for getting it into 13k.

This was a quick fun game; wish it went longer. Really nice atmosphere, music and sound effects. The graphics are super minimal but nice; love the blood and the organs of the units spread on the floor. The controls are simple and pretty easy to grasp. I’m not sure If you intended it, but I could zoom out the game and see more of the map with the browser zoom.\nThe game is too easy. I didn’t feel any real threat from the enemy bases. I was able to quickly overwhelm each base with numbers.\nI don’t understand the difference between the 3 types of soldier. Usually the first one would be an average one, the brute would have high HP and attack, while the quick one would move fast, maybe shoot faster, but have less HP. But it seems that The speeder is all that I need. Specially since I have basically infinite money.\nThe enemies don’t attack my base (or at least I didn’t wait long enough for that to happen). The only minor threat were the enemy giants, but they too went down eventually.\nIt would be nice if you said what each building or soldier costs to create. Although after a couple minutes I was mining way faster than I was able to spend. Maybe a quick solution would be for the mines to have a limited amount available.\nThere’s a bug where I can’t select my units if i draw a rectangle up and to the left. I must draw it down and the the right.\nThere’s another bug where I can see where the enemy bases are through the sub-pixel gaps between the “shadow tiles”.\nOverall an impressive game, good fun, and very polished! Good job.
