LOVE the music, so well done. The art style is also just gorgeous, love the muted palette. The rotoscoped vector art is just chef’s kiss.

Was not super crazy about the slow speed ramp on the horse. My suggestion would have been to let the speed ramp quickly, but then sell the momentum by damping the turn rate and slow down rate at high speed instead. So you get to the “action” quicker, but once you’re committed to a path, you can’t back out as easily and have to land shots to survive.

The animations and graphics style were quite pleasant. The music also had me vibing :) I didn’t realize I was supposed to follow the brown dot to the next hut during my first playthrough – once I realized that, the progression felt better. Enemies would sometimes spawn directly on the screen instead of offscreen which felt a bit weird. Fun entry!

The vibe of the game is outstanding - the graphics, the music, the animations. The game graphics seem to lag a bit, maybe it’s just too demanding for my XPS. Music and animation are definitely the strong sides of the game.

Tracing “The Galloping Horse” was a brilliant idea. (Rotoscoping!? In 13kb game!?). That’s probably why it reminds me visually a little bit of “Another world”.

I’ve happened to stuck between trees once or twice and enemies tend to spawn in the middle of the screen but beside that it’s a very solid and entertaining entry.

This was one of the first entries I saw posted, and one of the first that I played. This game is an amazing entry to the jam, with quite a lot going for it. Looking good, gameplay is a bit clunky.\nIssues:\nObjectives are non-evident. Took me some time to figure I should enter the yurt, then that I havet o go to the brown dot. So I have run out of time and lost the bow, effectively losing the game.\nHorse animations looks good, but for some reason play at slow motion. Also, rider keeps being misaligned with horse.\nEnemies spawn right in the middle of the screen, sometimes right over me.

I’m glad you enjoyed the experience. The horse has shop upgrades to improve its control, but that’s randomized so you might not always access it. I’ll try to improve that.

Glad you liked the shooting back control. I was really trying to find a way to shoot back while moving forward, without resorting to add the mouse. I tend to prefer when all controls are within the keyboard.

This was great! I like the animation and overall look of your graphics (especially the sketchy style of the animation), and running around on the horse felt nice by itself. The archery felt satisfying as well! One thing I didn’t like is how sometimes enemies would appear directly in front of me while I was running, so I didn’t really have a chance to dodge or shoot them. Not sure if that was just a bug or something, but it happened quite a few times. And personally I think the collision area on the trees felt a bit big, so getting through the forest felt hard at times (though I do appreciate the bigger collision area on enemies, so it made it more likely a hit would land!). Overall though, well done!

This game was super responsive initially when I tried it out and it was fun even if unbalanced with no collectibles and so on. Now it lags so much that it is almost unplayable for me.

Thanks for the feedback. One design decision I should have worked out a bit better was the introduction of shops.

Basically, the speed that you used to get in the initial version became a shop item that you need to acquire. It’s free, but in the first shop, you have to choose between speed and bow.

I’ll try to improve that initial experience, perhaps by making sure the horse is faster initially. But in the current version, those are upgrades you acquire as you go through levels.

Fun little game! The animations are very aesthetic, especially with the shadows. Beautiful art style!

It felt really good to control the horse around the map. I like the arrow implementation which provides a limited ability to “aim” accurately with some practice.

It took me some time to realize that the brown dot was leading to the next hut to buy upgrades. I think an arrow might be a better indicator.

The art style and animation are really cool, but it seemed to run at a fairly slow frame rate for me which detracted from that a little bit. Otherwise fun and straightforward shooter mechanics! Nice entry!
