I’m in love with the beauty of this game – such great stylized retro goodness. Sadly, I am not good enough to pass the first test flight, so I won’t see more of the game. I hope someone makes a video of it, or you make an easy-mode after the competition.

Love the retro vector graphics, so cool.

Absolutely beautiful retro terminal effects!

\n

I found out that I could bypass(hack?) the initial password screen by repeatedly clicking on words even after the access denied message shows up. Not sure if it’s intended.

\n

The 13 bullets restriction felt a little too tough, especially how given how quickly the enemy ship moved, would have been great if there was a way to refill bullets.

\n

Apart from the password screen and bullets restriction, this was a lot of fun!

Nice throwback to the laser graphics video game times!\nLimiting the amno to 12 missiles only is problematic on missions where the goal is to destroy a target (e.g. I ran out before I could destroy the base and was “stuck”, not dead but couldn’t win either)\nThe intro/cutscenes are a nice touch but should be skippable (for second play-through and following)

Looks good, but gameplay is a bit basic. Also, what’s the trick to the initial login sequence. I was just clicking words at random ntil I was let through.

Nice graphics and sounds. Grpahics were a little difficult on my eyes but I liked the style.

\n

First level was quite easy to pass, laid low and made it to the end, second level went on for ever?

\n

I shot my lasers early on so was unsure what to do after that.

\n

Has potential needs some work on the gameplay.

I love the aesthetics. I’m really curious to poke around and see how you implemented this style!

\n

With that said, I found it very tiring in the eyes specially during gameplay. The beeps were also really harsh and loud.

\n

I don’t know if i missed something but I don’t understand the part with all the letters. I just clicking any word until I could get in. It allowed me infinite number of attempts (number went to negatives).

The graphics are incredible and it’s amazing that you got a Star Fox-like game in 13kb!

\n

I got to the 3rd part and ran out of ammo when fighting the base. I think the game is unfinished given that shot every bullet I had on the boss and I tried to die but nothing killed me and the spinning circles of triangles did nothing; I thought they would give me more ammo. I couldn’t even die flying into the ground.

\n

Also the first part of the game where you click on words; I have no idea which word is correct. Is there a guide for this?

\n

Overall, I suppose having more than one game modes was fun but it left us with an unfinished game. But I appreciate the effort.

Ah, the code-cracking is clearly inspired by Fallout 4, but very well implemented. The first stage was easy, the following ones went on forever as soon as i fired my last shot.\nI tried to get killed by the enemies, but they could not hit me.

\n

Anyways: The presentation as old terminal-screen is amazing! Especially in combination with he vector-graphics.

\n

Good job, overall!

Cant get enough of the retro visuals and sounds here, the glitched bleed effect is too good! I’m glad it wasnt too easy either, makes it feel much more like an old C64 arcade game if its a but punishing, those early games werent made to be easy afterall!\nGreat work

The game looked really good.

\n

I liked the intro and the whole aesthetic was awesome.

\n

The sound effects were good, and the graphics reminded me of something like Elite with the wireframe or a vetrex game.

\n

The difficulty was pretty high on the first training mission, maybe ease the player in more gently.

\n

Very impressive

The title screen is a little game in the game, then we have a great Star Wars like, with a beautiful screen filter.

\n

Unfortunately no great use of number 13 in any way, but it’s still a great game.

Very immersive experience. Super cool binary sceen. I’m still not quite sure how I hacked in… I just went with my gut! Super cool graphics, and pretty fun once you get to dodging and blastin’! I think some audio with the text would’ve helped to polish. Also, would’ve loved a sliq/techy game track to go with muh blastin’. Cool entry!

One of my top entries this year. The theme is nowhere to be seen, but honestly I don’t care: the atmosphere, the story and the models absolutely made it up for me. I made it to the end but had to cheat a bit checking the source code to see a few things here and there - honestly, I love it all. It has some shortcomings and flaws (refilling the lasers in the final battle took me forever), but this inspired me and makes me feel like a kid again.

\n

One last thing: I had no idea one could do full-screen “filters” just directly on canvas :O I was convinced this was shaders all along, but nope, full-on canvas 2d rendering. Amazing!

Wow, the graphics and immersion in this game are really something else. From the get go I was mesmerized at what I was seeing on screen.

\n

I didn’t quite figure out the intro trick, just kept clicking words until it let me in. I didn’t even realize I had to do something for a while the first time.

\n

Nice little tutorial, but then after that like some others I ran out of ammo quickly and never could get past the first UFO level.

\n

Nice work on everything though!

wow that graphics are wicked!!! I really love the vector 3d lines and the glitches! I wonder if it would be more fun without the intro hacking puzzle. Imagine if that was a non-interactive intro instead? Because it looks cool but felt like it was in the way of the action. would have loved more cool sci fi sound effects to match the top notch visuals. amazing work!!!

Unfortunatelly I wasn’t able to play the game.\nBased on the visual, THE TERMINAL seems to have an aesthetic deeply rooted in the classic hacker/terminal interface. The binary code and matrix-like appearance of the screen give it a cryptic and intriguing feel, reminiscent of old-school text-based games or coding puzzles.

\n

I’m so disappointed I couldn’t play your game. It seems to have well done graphic design.

Visually this is outstanding! Wireframe vectors with a glorious motion blur / glitch effect across the whole thing. Great models, great sounds and an interesting concept, too. I liked that the very first screen full of text was a puzzle to enter the game. I didn’t have a clue what the puzzle actually was, but my second random guess at clicking the words let me in - so whatever!

\n

The first mission has you flying down a vector tunnel, avoiding the purple spinning ships zooming towards you. This is seriously hard. It would be easier if it wasn’t for the fact that flying into the sides of the tunnel also kill you, rather than just stopping you moving any further. I died more times as a result of this, while trying to avoid a baddie, than I did from hitting the actual baddies. However I did progress to mission 2 which you take down this UFO. That was a challenge, too! I think through sheer luck more than skill I managed it and then on mission 3 I had to destroy the base. I ran out of lasers and no matter how many times I flew through the star circles I never got any more shots, so had to end the game there.

\n

As I said at the start this is visually incredible. There are quite a few spelling mistakes worth fixing, but otherwise it’s a real showpiece game to look at. Gameplay though? Probably frustrating more than fulfilling, but those lovely vectors kept me trying and trying, which is always a win. Struggled to find any link to the theme at all though.
