this game is inspired by one of my favorite childhood games “whack a mole”, however we played a different version where all of the kids would set and one would stand and keep an eye on the sat kids, every time the person that was standing would look away the kids who were setting would start to jump and the standing player had to slap on top of their heads to catch them.\nthis game took seven days to code for me as a beginner woman from Afghanistan, its mostly Javascript and CSS also a little HTML, the LOGO, and every other art work used in the game is done by me, i did take help from AI when i needed to debug the game but the game itself is entirely my own work, i do understand that the idea isn’t very niche and new but i believe the math questions twist made it fun and interactive, i wish i could add an HP bar and a history of high scores or a game over if the player missed more than 5 lasers but due to the size allowed in the competition i couldn’t.\noverall this is my first time joining this event and my first year as a self-thought programmer and hope the best.

If i were to nitpick something, sometimes the bomb and the light is on the same grid and then one of them got clipped out of the grid.

Sometimes the flash goes beyond the 3x3 grid or appears behind one of the blue squares, but other than that, it played nice. Great job :)

The background is very Geocities websites from waaaay back! The odd time when a laser rendered in the bottom row the bomb would be drawn outside the grid and vice versa. Some audio feedback after clicking the laser and the bomb would be a nice small addition.

Very simple yet effective: I liked the fact that there were bombs that you had to try not to click or press because otherwise, you would have to answer 5 maths questions.
\nLinking back to the maths questions, they were a bit easier than I had thought (I think you could change the difficulty of the questions to make them a tad harder). Also, I think that you could add a timer so again it would be a bit harder.
\nThe link to your childhood was a really nice touch and I loved it. The graphics were pretty good considering the fact that it was a simple (but still effective) whack a mole game.
\nOverall quite fun!

But are you trying to prove me that I am not a bot or something? What’s 3 + 7 ? It is 0 points all the way.

Maybe this could be simplified using something like window.prompt.
Overall, with some polishing of the gameplay - like adding animations and motion design - this could really shine. I often see whack-a-mole mechanics used successfully as mini-games in larger titles, even today.
\nGood job, especially for a first attempt! 🎮👏

I like how you put puzzle on top of puzzle. It is something unique that I was not expecting and adds to the pressure. Very fitting in a world where we have so many different distractions thrown at us daily. I would love to see some different puzzles, and perhaps in a more cohesive style?
\nIt would also be great to see the theme of back cat woven in a bit more. Perhaps instead of a laser, we are trying to catch a mouse for example. And the math puzzles involved cheese.
\nA few things to think about but relatively easy to implement if you choose to do so.
\nNice work!

For a first entry it’s great, and it’s well optimized since there’s still space left at the end. Looking forward to what you’ll create next year! \nThe idea was nice enough and the cats very cute. You even had the black paw pointer cursor, similar to what I did in my game so obviously I’m partial towards that! ^^
\nThe game itself is very simple which is perfectly fine for a first submission. I did see some technical glitches, like the laser pointer appearing outside of the box but nothing game breaking.
\nI thought the idea of having to solve some math problems as a penalty was hilarious, props for coming up with that!
\nAll in all, great job finishing your first game and I’ll be curious to see what you submit next time!
