The sound of Pathetique, Op. 13 echoes in the air, endlessly weaving through joy, sorrow, and chaos.
\nA mysterious 13th floor has appeared in the elevator.
\nAlice, a witch, who has 13 lives, has been tasked with investigating the terrifying disappearances related to the elevator.
\nHowever, as the elevator ascends, it pulls Alice further and further away from reality, one floor at a time.
\nPerhaps, by defeating the dreadful 13 number demons on each floor, she can escape this nightmare once she reaches the 13th floor.
\nBut… is that really possible?
\nDodge enemy bullets and defeat them. Do not let them hit your heart. Defeat all demons before 13 life points are consumed.
\nGreat use of sound effects and music. Love the 8-bit graphics. A very interesting take on a space-invaders-like game. Good narrative building.
\nIt’s nice to have the controls and game info right there on the screen, great work. It did feel a little simplistic; like I didn’t really have to move around much and the ‘bullets’ seemed like they had little effect on me.
\nThe second level is SUPER trippy (and even the ’bullet’s from the enemies are very light/graphics intensive). Might put off some players that have visual impairments; I would have a disclosure at the start of the game saying something along the lines of “this game contains strobe-like lighting effects that may be sensitive to some viewers.”
\nExtensive GitHub README - well done.

The collision determination of bullets is actually set relatively loosely, but in fact, my friend still said it is very difficult, so he can only try to find a balance of difficulty. Thanks for your playing again!

\nFrom the beginning I didn’t understand how I was losing life until I finally read the description, it would be nice to have this information in the game.
\nI like the transition effects to the next floor, looks cool! Loved the rain too!
\nThe music is not bad, but I would like to be able to turn it on/off. Also, I don’t really imagine how it is possible to win, given that there are a lot of enemy bullets, so I guess I would like to see a little easier levels, although I can imagine how they can be played, it was a bit difficult for me, or on the contrary, I stood still for several levels without damage: ). It would be good to have arrow keys and WASD keys :).
\nGood idea and game, congratulations!

Except for the last level, each level actually has “invincible” locations, so you may have found them! Also thanks for your suggestions.

\nI didn’t understand what triggered get hit or not. Sometimes bullets would go through me and not take away a life, and other times they would hit me. Also a lot of attack patterns from the enemy seem impossible to dodge.

I made it to level 12, but only because I was able to find a spot to camp out level 11. I really liked the way the blocks flowed in each level. Sometimes, it became quite hypnotic. Solid game track too. Great entry!

\nInteresting that you can move up and above the enemy. Makes for some unique repositioning strategies.
\nMy main nitpick with the game is that I wasn’t sure what was hurting me. I guess there’s one pixel (“the heart”) that insta-kills you? But otherwise you’re invincible (like getting hit in the arm doesn’t do anything)? Maybe that aspect could have been a little more clear
\nBut yeah, overall, cool entry!

\nI liked that if you were brave enough to go closer to the “demon” you could defeat them quicker because the next shot came more frequently (due to cutting out travel time).
\nThe feeling of moving was good, with the streaks going past on each side.
\nI didn’t pay particular attention to avoiding bullets and still seemed to always manage to complete the levels. Very generous to have so many lives.

\nI really liked the demoscene graphics you added to your game and the story behind going up on the building. I didn’t manage to finish the game on two attempts, even though I figured that the blocks only collide with me when they go down.
\nI enjoyed the first levels while I was trying to figure out the best way to hit the bosses, but then once I had it, it was a bit repetitive. I get this might just be the rush of the month in a game jam.

My one piece of feedback for the game would be that while playing, it was difficult to tell at times wether I was being hurt by the bullets. This made it a bit unclear what my current status was in the game and wether I was close to getting a game over. Other than that - very nice job!

\nThe QoL features such as the shift key for precise movement, and showing the hitbox on the player, are very nice. GJ!
