This is a game about building a castle. Magnificent and sempiternal, the fortress of the mind will rise — and it begins with a single block.
\nSet in the 13th century, Super Castle Game immerses you in a captivating medieval fantasy world of some description.
\nThe icons are: toggle audio, restart the level, and level select.
\nFor best experience on Android, use the ‘Add to Home screen’ feature. Seriously, it’s amazing how much better the game runs if started from that shortcut.
\nThank you for playing!
\nSuper Castle Game allows you to make your own levels: see the Community Levels page
\nLevels are just links to an instance of the game, so they can be shared freely on any social network, git repository, by email, and so on. This is the real, useful decentralized functionality.
\nThe game is hosted on IPFS:\nipfs://bafybeie5x57m5gdh6r3bz7wnfeifo22wvcb2efas2l5hplvnwl5vz6myua
\nFor convenience, have some HTTP gateway links:
\nThat’s an interesting puzzle! Though I don’t really see the castle in my mind, or anything else with the theme.

The castle walls on the title screen use the same colors as the grey pieces in the levels, and that’s no coincidence, they’re meant to be the same blocks.
\nIf I ever make the full release of this game, I’ll include an animation or something to show how after completing a level they go to their place in the building, — I considered this during the compo but had no time or willpower left :)

\nThe only faults are that maybe it doesn’t fit the theme, other than the name and the drawing of a castle, the game itself is just an unrelated puzzle game (but an amazing one). And the difficulty ramps up maybe a bit too quickly too?
\nBut despite the minor issues, still one of my favorite games this year. I love it!

\nThe game felt really polished, the music was good, the graphics were good and it was easy to control.
\nI liked all the little animations and cuts between levels. Very good

I loved every detail: animated everything, smooth transitions between views, … I didn’t need to read to get started to play. Also, the levels got harder with just the right amount and introduced new mechanics before giving a change to apply on following levels. I admire the skill how to put together so balanced, well implemented full game.

\nMy only bigger complaint is the lack of an “undo” button, which seems to be pretty standard in modern puzzle games. Restarting the whole stage after one mistake always feels a bit frustrating. Maybe this is something that could be implemented to the post-compo version, if there’ll ever be one?

\nAnd I’ve played it way to long now. It’s entertaining! Great job!

This puzzle game really makes you think, some levels seemed impossible at first, specially the one I got stuck on. Something to improve would be to add the # of level I’m on and the # of total levels but is a minor thing

The music is great, the transitions are fantastic, the difficulty curve is well-balanced. I’d love to see this expanded into a longer game, I’d buy it in a heartbeat! The one thing I’d suggest that seems to be standard in these types of games these days is an undo button. I keep hitting Z and getting disappointed when I have to restart and try to remember how to get to where I was after making a minor misstep. Despite that minor thing, this is definitely one of my favorite games this year! (The support for community levels is the icing on the cake, well-done with that detail!)

\nI don’t get how this is a “castle building game”. I guess maybe in a very abstract way?
