SUB13 is a lane-racer where you need to keep a high speed by picking up speed boost power-ups. Keep as high speed as possible, but do not go above 12. If you do, you will lose speed instead.
\nBeat the 4 opponents and enjoy the psychedelic visuals and chill music!

Very clever use of “13”, and the fear of going over 13 was real. It’s tricky to constantly watch the road and your power meter. Nice visuals, nice music, pretty polished package. Well done!

\nThe constant checking of the current speed and counting the booster-bars and calculation of “dont go over 12!” makes it quite stressful, but that is also the motivational thing that lets the player retry the game.\nThe feeling of the speed is good, nice graphics and music.\nGood entry!

Getting that 13th power-up hurts real bad. Great graphics and cool music. I wonder if adding sound effects for power up levels could allow for more hyper-focused gameplay, i.e. that you could listen to how many powerups you have left and focus just on the road. Congrats for submitting this nice game!

There are sound effects when picking up the power-ups, but maybe some sort of persistent “engine noise” thing could be added to help keep track of your speed level. That’s a good idea!

I liked the 3D (psudo-3D?) graphics and the cubes pulsing to the music! I also appreciate you applying the theme to the gameplay.
\nI also really liked how the controls are press and release to change lanes to help with reaction time.
\nIf the speed boosts are staggered, it should have enough space to hit two of them while lane changing. Some seem too close.
\nAlso, if you change 2 lanes too fast, the controls get a little wonky. Nothing a few tweaks can’t fix.
\nOverall, great game and thanks for making it an enjoyable experience.

\nThe music and sound effects were really well done and catchy.
\nI love the way the course pulses in time with the music - very neat.
\nThe first time around, I thought the big stacks were blockers so I avoided them all only to be told I could to better.
\nThen I played again and intentionally hit everything on the course, which of course is the point of the game as they are the power ups.
\nIf I could suggest one change it would be to switch view in sync with the player racer, it felt a bit disjointed that the camera switched and then the player did.

I liked it how you managed to convey the sense of speed and that there are NPC racers to compete against! Great audio, especially the drums track.
\nSince managing the speed is the core experience, it would perhaps be helpful if the speed gauge was positioned closer to the center of the screen, or integrated in some other way into the gameplay. As it is right now, my eyes hurt a bit from having to constantly switch between looking at the speed meter and at the track. At high speeds, it’s a bit difficult to tell 4+ speed boosts apart—maybe some color coding would help?
\nI also struggled a bit with the controls: my instinct was to assume that pressing an arrow was enough to change the lane, rather than hold it. It took me a while to get used to it.
\nI had a lot of fun playing, thank you!

The art style is really cohesive and engaging, and the animation is super fluid. I found the mechanics of maintaining the speed around 12 to be a really nice interpretation of the theme. The music is very nice and fitting too. The gameplay is fun even though it’s very simple.
\nI honestly didn’t realize this was a race against other players until I finished 4th on the first try. You can barely notice there were other players. Some of the text, e.g. in the menu, looks a bit out of place and broken. The controls could be also a bit smoother. The camera movement is a bit janky.

I love music games and it is amazing that one can be squeezed in only 13k. I enjoyed that psychedelic racing track dancing and colors pulsating and changing to groovy music.
\nAs for improvements, the track switching feels a little jerky for my taste. I feel the camera jumps are too steep and sudden with the camera jump first and then the ship following suit. Maybe it would feel better to move the ship first and then slowly slide the camera onto the appropriate track or sync the ship and camera completely - that way you’ll feel you control the ship and not the camera.
\nAlso, a speed boost looks a bit like a wall to me - I was hesitant to hit them at first. It is great they show the boost number very explicitly, but maybe you can reorient them like laying down on the track and maybe shape them like >>>>, so they would look like something that will boost you and not collide with you.
\nP.S. After one of the runs I caught an exception in Chrome while trying to restart the race:
\nUncaught TypeError: Failed to execute 'setValueAtTime' on 'AudioParam': The provided float value is non-finite.\n at d (sub13/:1:36387)\n at e.da (sub13/:1:37390)\n at Object.update (sub13/:1:35126)\n at c (sub13/:1:39652)\n\nAnd it refused to restart - I had to refresh the page.\nI didn’t figure out the exact condition that caused it and it was a one-off event - I never experienced it on other runs.

\nA racing game with impressive 3D visuals, especially under 13k. The speed power ups look more like barricades to me, so at first I avoided them. Once I started collecting them instead, the game speeds up and is more fun. Looks great and has good sounds/music too. Great job!
