Stray Cat is a A 2D browser game built on top of the Canvas API where you need to survive by running away from the rain and catching mice. Basically, remain fed and dry!
\nThis game is absolutely fun to play! I feel like it’s simple enough for anyone to play but challenging enough for a challenge. I like everything about this game. I wish the cat didn’t gain hunger too fast but maybe you can work out some kind of balance in the future. Anyway, thank you for making your game!

\nI think there could have been a lot more added to make this one really stand out. Great effort though :)

Also didn’t really know how to win, felt like I could just keep going around eating indefinitely.
\nCool idea though with some really cool effects.

Thanks for the feedback!

I enjoyed the mix between chasing mice and avoiding the rain, and the day/night cycle adds a nice touch.\nThe only small drawback is a slight visual inconsistency: the background is all in SVG while the cat is in pixel art and looks a bit blurry.\nSurvived 4 days on my second run :)

\nI’m unclear on what the strategy for the game should be. Seems like you just run towards each mouse and hope you catch them before you die.
\nLove the graphics. Nice work on the animation.

Also I believe you should balance a bit more the difficulty between hunger and wetness. Perhaps you could make the cat hungrier when running. That being said, it’s fun to play; congratulations and good luck!

Yeah, jumping is certainly something I need to add for the cat! I’d have to have more sprites for the jump and I was already close to 13 kb…

I was not expecting the mouse to jump, it was fun to try to get it:) I would have appreciated some progression in the game such as levels or increasing challenges. This is a great work.

\nI think it’d be nice if there were more decisions/strategies for the player. Even something as simple as having two mice on screen at once might be good, because you’d have to decide which to run towards

Game play at it’s core is about having to guess going left and right, which I suspect a little rigged because no matter which direction I choose the mouse is on the other way. And what’s up with the jumping mice??

\nI liked the running through the city with the change of weather and time of day, although the rain cloud did seem to follow me :)
\nIt was fun chasing the mouse, and helpful to have the arrows when I was going the wrong way, found it easy to catch when running, until the mouse did an evasive jump manoeuvre - neat

If you could make the cat stand out more however, that’d be great. It did feel like the buildings were the focal point.
\nControls were smooth, although the keys got stuck for me on my first run, so the cat went all the way to one side. Weird that the cat stops and gets rained on while catching the mouse.
\nFun platformer, would be great to have some more sound effects (like the weather), and some music too - I know you’re close to the limit of your kBs though.

I love the changing weather and the day/night cycle. The animations are fantastic, and the running inertia feels really good. The controls are intuitive - though it took me three failed days to figure out I needed to use SHIFT!
\nThe main things missing are music and sound effects. I’d also love to see more possible activities and some gameplay that utilizes the Y-axis (verticality). Overall, a really good job with room to grow! 😊🎮

\nGreat work on this submission! The controls were nice and the graphics were really well done.

\nHowever, I found it unclear when I could run again after I catched a mice - some UI feedback would help. The jumping mice were a fun surprise but felt a bit frustrating when I couldn’t jump myself. Also felt like the difficulty could use some balancing between hunger and wetness.
\nSolid foundation for a platformer - would love to see some progression or levels added. Good job!
