The combination of mouse and keyboard worked well. The music is funky and well suited. I liked the pixel art and low palette. I’ve played this a few times

I liked how the module was optimistic and heroic at first and then having genuine fear after every hit. After that I don’t know how much HP you have after the death of the modular system and I think it lacks something to improve the game, like powerups or different types of enemies (if there were anything like that, I didn’t see them, sorry). Overall it’s a really good entry and I liked that a lot.

\nLove the colour scheme, great use of pixel font (will be checking out how to achive that!)
\nReally nice music to go with the game play. The companion is a nice touch, having the updates on where the next attack is coming from at first you think will be helpful but then before you know it you are overrun!
\nThe enemy animation are neat, love the splatter they leave behind, when you get hit the shield mechanic is a great idea; allows you to reset and start over.
\nWith more time you could make this into a great game, well done!!

Effective mechanics and it feels good to be saved by the companion. I noticed some minor bugs (weird enemies/wall collisions, teleporting enemies and disappearing) but nothing game breaking. Also, when I died the game didn’t stop. Good job overall :)

Don’t know if there is an end (other than dying ^^).\nI’d like to have some fx when shooting too, and some powerup has we have more powerfull enemies after time. I don’t really know where the “death” theme, just than we just can die at the end.

I felt it a bit too quick, adding a bit of a pause between waves and a way to heal the Defense Module Companion would have been nice, i.e. with powerups after each wave.

This game could really benefit from some juicy sound effects. Difficulty increases with every breach, which is good. I think it would be nice to know where each sector is. so I know where the enemies are spawning from.

Hitbox is not crisp but ok, bullets hitting walls don’t have effects, enemy path finding is good and predictable.
\nAudio was pretty nice as well. Lacking shooting sound was a bit sad but considering this game’s goal, perhaps it is ok.
\nI originally wanted to comment about game pacing and balancing, but then this game’s focus is not that, so… I am gonna… wait,
\ni still think this game is a little bit too short to let the emotions build up.\nI believe that, if this game is 30s ~ 1 minute longer, the emotions in this game will be so deep it will burn a hole in my heart. However right now it is just a ripple.

DMC is so adorable and tragic.\nThe graphics are top notch. Fluid and beautiful.\nI like how there’s an implicit health status from DMC’s lines, and then when he’s gone you know you’re screwed.\nWish there was music.

\nFrom the small, rapidly moving little blobs to the large lumbering bullet sponges, it’s a frantic race to see how many waves you can defeat before your trust Defense Module Companion finally gives up the ghost and expires.
\nGraphically the game looks great, and I really liked the music, too, although a few sound effects would have been nice. The font was corrupted on Retina displays, but thankfully the game graphics were fine, and it didn’t detract from what was an enjoyable blasting experience. At the end, my character was so overwhelmed with baddies that he glitched right out of the map - but honestly, I don’t blame him. Those were some pretty frantic odds, after all.

\nThe controls are really intuitive and simple. The colours are fantastic. I love this colour combo, but more importantly, it’s really clear what each thing is because the colours are so distinctive - enemies, fire, player. The graphics are super cool! The way the little dude moves with the controls dynamic and immersive. The visuals for the player being shot is great!
\nChiptune music is great and fits in nicely with the 8-bit artwork. Would be great to have sound effects though. This would make things like shooting, killing an enemy, and being shot more dynamic.
\nI liked the way the game started relatively easy, and then got super hard as it progressed. A health bar would be awesome though so you can see how well you’re doing (or not doing!)
\nInteresting that you made French layout supported; well done on more regionalisation.
\nTested in Brave browser for you too - it works!

Graphically looks amazing, could have had a bit more polish making enemy deaths feel a bit more visceral (bullets stopping when they hit, screen shake, sound effects, etc..)
