This is great! Very tight and polished experience. Nice soulslike vibes. My first run I went all sword, and got wrecked by the first boss. Second run I went all bow. Bow is kinda OP. Limiting ammo, and having random ammo drops around the map could have been interesting? It would give the player a reason to use the sword and roll mechanics, which are quite fun, but underpowered. Congrats on submitting, really great entry, well done!

\nNice graphics and controls work well. A little more movement from the basic enemies and some trees etc would help make it more fun!

I love that game and this game has similar vibes. As well as Souls-like and other games with medieval combat like Zelda.
\nThe game centers around combat with enemies with the same abilities, but they shouldn’t work the same way. So I would implement telegraphing, which helps players see what attack is coming and reward them with reacting to it correctly.
\nFor example, seeing the swing of a sword is about to be unleashed, the player can dodge, parry, or pull out the shield. And the decision can reward the player with stunning the enemy or give a predictable opening.
\nMy game is similar in that my enemy tanks are the same as my own character but they don’t move or turn as fast as you. So their movements and attacks were predictable. My first implementation was hilarious because I was immediately swarmed and slaughtered by enemy tanks.
\nI hope this game leads to more interesting game design decisions.

I recommend you to add the arrows and / or QZSD in the controls for people like me, who have not QWERTY keyboard :)

It was far too easy in the first levels to just shoot everyone from afar, since i had infinite arrows. Even Number 13 was mostly done in my arrows. It wasn’t very practical to change between sword and shield, I would have liked to be able to sort of dual wield them. So I basically brute forced the game, until I got killed by Number 14. So 13 isn’t the strongest after all? The numbers didn’t see to indicate their strength.

\nWhen the opponents spawned with different AI, this added a lot to the action, very nice touch.

You should call .preventDefault() on all keyboard events to prevent this.
Nice little game. Would be cool, if the enemies would not be sitting ducks until they are hit. the player can even run through the, unharmed.

\nI like the graphics and animations. The “breathing” was a nice touch.
\nI started with the sword, which despite being good meant I needed to be close so the battles were quite “close”.
\nHowever once I switched to bow and arrow, things got a lot easier. Just placing myself on the map and clicking on the enemy target they didn’t stand a chance.
\nEven the larger enemies which came towards me were easily dispatched if I just walked around and kept clicking on them.
\nWas there infinite arrows? There wasn’t an indicator for this.
\nPerhaps once you’ve made the first battle intention, all characters should come for you rather than staying still so I could dispatch them easily one-by-one.
\nA fun game though.

I wish the ai was more aggressive, and that I could use two things at the same. time. Also, I think we need a limited quiver of arrows that replenishes over time, to prevent bow spam and encourage hand to hand combat, which is where this game really shines. nice work.

I found that I can basically just stand still and shoot everything with my bow. It’s only the “boss” enemies that really pose a problem and force me to move around.
