In the darkness of night, you are Shadow - a cunning black cat trapped within the walls of a mysterious manor.
\nFive treacherous rooms stand between you and freedom. Navigate through furniture, outsmart scurrying mice, and face the ultimate guardian - a massive hound that prowls these halls.
\nYour survival depends on wit, agility, and the treasures you discover along the way.

Is a minimalistic game with some good mechanics like shop and the use of RPG features like the Battle in Text mode.
\nSome improvements can be add sound and add more levels.
\nGood Work!!

With the tool you mentioned, I’ll use it next time. Honestly, it was my first time and it really showed — between the fact that I did it in 24h and my lack of experience, it was noticeable

\nI like the implementation where the mice only move when you move.
\nI guess I won the game.
\nGood game, loved it. After Room 5 I got this…\n“SHADOW’S TRIUMPH
\nAgainst all odds, you have escaped the cursed manor!
\nYou are Shadow no more — you are free.
\nThe manor’s secrets remain, but your legend lives on…”
Thanks a lot for your feedback, yep it’s my first time doing this, hope next time i do it better :D

Also, the pounce button moves down when you click on it which can be a bit unconfortable.

\nFinal Room: 5\nHP: 61/100\nAgility: 51\nDefense: 29\nFish Collected: 172
\nPretty neat. Very much on the easy side though with no real gameplay decisions to really make. Even the boss was surprisingly tame even without the repellant (still wasn’t quite sure about what it’d do). I had like three milk left too and was just mashing the (annoyingly dodging) attack button keeping my eye on my hp and surprisingly fast the dog went down.
\nI think the combat display was a bit much with so much unnecessary information. Would have preferred for it to just me player and opponent life totals stated clearly with maybe a smaller number indicating the change every turn.
\nIt was also kinda annoying to just front load the player with information on the different symbols on start with no context of the game or how it plays and then just rely on the player remembering it all. The symbols could have at least been a bit more informative on what they reflected to make that easier. Just like the cat, dog and mice already were. Why not have the same more indicative shape for fish and milk (maybe a saucer or a milk carton) too and the shop could have been a dollar symbol or something. Not that those things really mattered anyway cause I was at least doing full clears anyway and you do learn the symbols kinda quickly though. But still would have made the beginning a bit smoother.

\nYes, I made the difficulty very easy because in a jam most people only spend about 5 minutes playing, and I wanted everyone to be able to enjoy it. As for the graphics, everything was made in CSS. At one point I tried to make a fish but couldn’t manage it, and since I only had 24h because I discovered this jam very late, it really showed.
\nYou’re absolutely right that giving so much information at once can be overwhelming. I’m sorry about that — at the time I couldn’t think of a better way to handle it. I’ll try to do better next time and make it less annoying. Thanks a lot for your time and feedback!

\nThe whole turn based movement was good so that I could plan a route
\nThe shop was a nice touch
\nI thought it was quite amusing that you could fight the furniture
\nOne change I would suggest is allowing the battles to be done whilst staying on the keyboard and not have to switch back and forth with the mouse
