For some reason this didn’t start on my quest 2 :(

At first this game seemed utterly broken, big grey blurry text, nothing after that on Quest… After a while on desktop I figured out you were in a totally black maze, so all you could do is look at the map to see where you were. It felt more like I needed to find the Pied Piper because it did not move at all.

\n

This game has some potential, use lighting so you can see where you are going, make the Pied Piper move, add a bit of sound (closer to the Pied Piper quicker and louder), etc. would nog have made the development cost much more time, but would have greatly improved the game.

The screen was too dark to navigate since the color of the bricks/wall was almost black. Though it was fun going around the map and finding the piper-instead of escaping him. I agree with mr van egmond’s comment on changing the tempo/volume of the sound when the piper is nearby to add a thrilling touch

The game didn’t work for me I’m afraid, the screen showed an info page, then just a grey screen. A box appeared when I clicked on the screen.

Also, submitting the game to the “desktop” category means you can’t use any external dependencies like Babylon.js

The game works, but it really feels broken at first as it takes some time to generate the maze and also hangs for a while the first time it has to render certain elements - I see that people don’t realize that.. Playing involves mostly looking at the map, as the 3D visualization is confusing. Besides it being all black with some random sky here and there to give clues on the environment, there are a few glitches that can hinder your orientation. For example there is no difference when you face a wall and there is one step ahead, or when you already have reached it. Walking through a corridor also does not give feedback (this can be fixed by just changing the ground tile - the same way as when you rotate around) There is also a bug when the RND has placed two corridors with just one tile of wall in between - the other corridor is visible as if looking through a glass wall. I liked that the back button actually moved me backwards, instead of rotating 180 degrees. Also liked that the enemies were somewhat clueless but not that much - some of them were stationary but others had movement patterns and it was not so easy to avoid them. They even walked through corridors and it can give you some intense moments there haha. I found the pink brother but it looked the same as the enemies - it was the only one that did not moved though, so maybe it wasn’t just luck. Anyways I had fun exploring this game!

The games does work, it just takes a bit to load.

\n

I felt a little disoriented in the game, but I expect that is the intention.

\n

I didn’t manage to find my brother as I couldn’t find a way to a couple of rooms (I must’ve not looked too carefully).

\n

This game would benefit imensely from spacial sound so that we’re aware of where the Pied Piper is and I think having this would’ve pushed my innovation score a lot higher.

\n

Regarding the blurry text at the start, you should change the canvas rendering mode like so:

\n
ctx.imageSmoothingEnabled = false;\n
\n

Where ctx is your canvas context

\n

That should make the text a bit more legible.\nAlternatively, define the right canvas dimentions to match the player screen’s and increase the font size.

Interesting game. Wish the movements were a bit smoother on desktop. I basically found myself looking mostly at the minimap. The first person I found was the brother, but I thought that was Red, not Pink. The red fellas don’t move of come after me so they were easily avoided. The brother was hard to catch and was passing through me. The connection to the theme is a little forced.

Nice mouse simulator!

\n

Fix the graphics a little so that there are differences in the texture of tunnels and walls, and I also think it would be better to add a mouse skin for my brother, instead of a person (ratcatchers), if I understood the game correctly - it would make it more understandable.

\n

Also, at the beginning, the game takes a long time to load, for a start, I suggest adding any “loader”, that is, a progress bar, which would let the user understand that everything is in order and the game is loading. Well, then try to optimize the download process itself if possible :).

\n

Sounds will also add interest to the game!

\n

In general, I described what I think is a good start from which you can create anything!

\n

Thanks and congratulations!

Well, not a bad labyrythm game, but there are lot of problems.\nLevels are quite unrepresentative, it’s hard to anderstand anything from main view. Labyrythm generation sometimes generates isolated rooms (you can move in 2 rooms and rest aren’t available or I didn’t find the way)\nBut good prototype, nice job!

I played on desktop as I was not able to run the game in VR.

\n

The controls felt pretty strange and it took me a bit to figure what was going on. I think FPS controls and maybe more indication with spatial audio for the target/ennemy could help a bit (shamelessly stealing the idea from one of the other submissions).

\n

It is not clear to me how we would “win” the game.
