For The Theme ‘Death’ I decided to make a shoot ’em up based on the Pacific theater of World War II.
\nThe player controls a Grumman F6F Hellcat.
\nThe enemy planes are Mitsubishi A6M “Zero”, Nakajima B5N “Kate” and Mitsubishi G4M “Betty”. Also there are “Fubuki” class destroyers that must me be eliminated in a surface attack wave.

Reminds me of Capcom’s 1942 arcade shooter in 3D. Bonus points for the cinematic intro.

When I press the right key it goes to the bottom right, when I press left it goes to the top left. The isometric aspect makes it a bit hard to aim. Using the mouse would have been nice too but I can see how it would completely change the gameplay.
\nOther than that I actually really like the visual aspect. The elements actually looked really cool and reminded me of crossy road.
\nAdd more levels, polish the sounds and I will gladly play it again :)

\nGreat graphics, liked the crossy road voxel style.
\nThe enemy animations / movement was very well done.
\nDecent sounds, controls took a little bit of getting used to.
\nWould have been good to see some more effects; screen shake, maybe some waves / splashes in the sea when you fly close to the water.
\nSometimes I downgraded the weapon by collecting power ups which seemed unfair.
\nOver all really good entry!

I loved the isometric camera angle like zaxxon and the awesome shmup styles of 1942, put together it was perfect. the explosions with debris are a nice touch. Excellent work.

\nThe explosions were good. I liked the (probably unintentional) ability to steer the frag parts of the explosion after you died.
\nI did find myself shooting the “black” ships, but realised they were just shadows. Perhaps make them semi-transparent.
\nThe islands looked good, I assume from your description that they were made using perlin noise?

Some improvement ideas: the shadow could be a bit less pronounced, and the gap without action between the boss plane and the ships is a bit long, and the levels could be more diverse.

\nThe controls are easy and quick to get used to, but I think would’ve been more interesting if it has a little bit of momentum.
\nThe enemies are stupid. They don’t aim to make it harder for you, they just shoot at a random moment.
\nAlso, don’t think it is very related to the theme.
\nIn overall a good, fun to play game.

A voxel-inspired shoot-em-up in the air as you fly your plane across the sea and landscapes, blowing away the enemy fighters and ships.
\nThere are health and weapon power-ups, which you’ll undoubtedly need, as collision with the baddies drains your energy very quickly. The controls take getting used to because they don’t feel quite right at first due to the isometric nature of the orientation and the way you have to press them to move. The directions just don’t naturally map to where you move.
\nHowever, for 13k this is quite an achievement, to say the least, even if it perhaps isn’t very on-theme.

There’s a bit of variation with the shift from land to sea battle, but I think it would have been possible to take this further, perhaps high mountains and other terrain types, such as deserts or forests to give more variation.

The graphics are super well executed. The sound effects were on point, just wish there was just tunes. This game is basically a remake of the game “1944” from NES with nicer graphics.\nIt felt a bit repetitive after a bit, but it was fun to play. I like how you implemented the different kinds of planes. Maybe you can add an option where we play as Japan too ;P
