Kind of interesting, very touchy controls.

\n

I found that if you ride the lines you are never hit by any obstacle.

\n

Also my car is on fire but the smoke is moving up the screen, faster than my car. It would look nicer going the other way :)

Fun little game. A classic genre.

I’m a bit confused, am I driving in the opposite direction of the traffic? Why do cars have fire coming out of their head lights? Also how is this “bad traffic” if the streets were mostly empty? I think you need to rethink the story :P But good job overall

The sound effects seem to have some delay when I crashed against other cars. The car images look kinda blurry, you might want to disable imageSmoothingEnabled in your canvas.

Damn, I guess traffic was so bad you had to drive on the opposite side of the road!

I really liked the pixel graphics and fire effect.

\n

I do wish changing lanes was done with a tap of a key and not veer across the screen or end up on a traffic line. I didn’t know about accelerating or breaking so maybe some visual indication of your speed, accelerating, and breaking could be displayed in your UI.

Perhaps you wanted to do your own sound effects, but you could use ZzFX for a quick and good solution.

Simple game, all works well.. my advice, go check out an arcade version of this genre. Look at what makes it fun.

I would have had the car drift into the centre of the lanes automatically, have cars beep when you are close, add in some power ups, oil on the road etc.

I accidentally managed to position the car right between two lanes, centered on one of the dashed lines, and none of the other cars could hit me anymore :D Sweet spot!

Simple game which become really hard after some time (cars are going too fast :P) but if you stay between 2 lines, you never get hurt\nnice particle effects, lines are accelerating with time too.\nIt would be great to have a “trail” after cars to add the speed sensation

You mentioned the full-screen mode in the description, but when using it, I expected more visibility, instead it scaled and the car models became more compressed visually :).

It would be nice to have information about the controls in the game, because people don’t always read the description before the game, as well as the ability to mute/unmute. I would also like to have control of WASD.

Nice sprites and particle effects. The difficulty is a bit steep, from easy on level 1 to almost impossible on level 5 (even with the brakes to the floor, you need lightning reflexes). Incoming cars should appear on the top of the screen, not 1/4 down.

And the audio is a bit annoying, I was expecting the staccato of your own engine and the wooshes (and honks) from the car in the opposing directions. And if you are in a hurry, why drive on the wrong lanes to start with ?

Well. Huge violation of traffic law as you are driving against the direction ;-).

Other than that, the game is pretty nice tho I prefer the driver to switch lanes when pressed Left and right. One press of left arrow makes the car go all the way to the left.

The fonts are too small for me since I am playing with desktop and the screen is vertical.

\n

Keep on improving the visuals and it would be a pretty good game.

I had fun to play, my best score is 16300.\nI found the difficulty increasing very fast, I would have appreciated a more gradual increase.\nThe particles effects and the car graphics are nice. I suggest you to remove the fps in the top right of the game (seems like a debug mode)

Graphics are good, both in terms of sprites and game play area layout.

Sound effects were nice, but didn’t sound much like a crash.

It’s a classic lane racer. Avoid the oncoming cars, or they’ll cause damage. Too much damage, and it’s game over. There’s a quite nice little particle effect as you accrue damage and you do have some semblance of control over the speed of the oncoming traffic, although it feels a bit arbitrary. I managed to make it to Level 3 by staying in one single lane and not moving :) By Level 5 the speed was so insane I stood no chance, and the other cars were spawning a 3rd into the screen! Well done on entering. The concept feels almost on-theme, just needs some more gameplay polish.

One thing: on displays with higher framerate (144Hz / FPS) on my gaming laptop, the other cars and the controls are incredible fast.\nYou dont calculate the delta-time for each animationframe in your tick() method, whichresults in more than twice the speed copared to yout probably targeted 60 fps.

The instructions mention that I have to reach a location on time, but there is no visible timer. I think it would be nice to have some visual cue on my own car that it is decelerating or accelerating. Moving the car down towards the bottom of the screen when decelerating and moving it slight upwards when accelerating. I also noticed that sometimes the other cars seems to be spawning on screen (at the top) rather than outside of the visible area.
