In the 13th century, the Mongol Empire marched to conquer the world. As a Mongol commander, your duty is to lead your army to conquer European castles.

\n

This is a tower attack game based on Tetris-like blocks. Strategically arrange the blocks to summon Mongol soldiers and lead them to victory.

\n

Controls

\n\n

Gameplay

\n

The goal of the game is to pursue the highest score. Players need to strategically place blocks on the strategy board. To place a block, hover the mouse over the board, and the block will be displayed based on the anchor point. Blocks can be rotated by pressing “Z” key or by clicking on the anchor point. Fill the entire strategy board with blocks as much as possible, and there will be unexpected effects.

\n

Each block represents a type of soldier. If you encounter an inappropriate block, you can click the “waive” button to give up. When there are no more blocks, click the button to start attacking the tower. The game will generate soldiers according to the order of blocks (left to right) in the strategy board. When there is a blank grid in the strategy board, the grid will be locked and cannot be arranged into squares in the next round.

\n

Score

\n

The scoring is calculated based on factors such as the attack power, attack range, attack speed, and attack points of the defeated soldiers and the castle. In addition, the remaining Mongol soldiers will also become bonus.

Really nice effort! I love the graphics and how you integrated a tetris type thing in there, well done.

The only thing missing from this game is sound. Everything else is 5/5.

\n

The tetris strategy board as a way to set up what units you have access to is brilliant!\nAnd just when I thought I was done being amazed, the “gaps” carry over as blocked out areas!\nSo it does feel like you have one warband and that’s the one warband that you continue with.

\n

Brilliant game! Definitely in my top 5.

Very nice idea. Got a good strategy as early as my second run. Overall the pastel colors work ok on the battlefield, but down on the strategy board they were too bland, especially the damaged pieces needed more prominent colors, so I could see them easily. The placement of pieces on the board was a bit hard on the edges, especially if I couldn’t see the piece - it just needed to be semi-transparent when outside.

Very interesting mechanic using the tetris board, and the graphics and color palette are awesome!

Concept is interesting with tetris as a way to lay out the attack strategy. Did not realise at first way the time line would run and put the infantry in the wrong place.

\n

The graphics and colours are very nice, plus the design of the characters is good.

This is an EXCELLENT idea. Love the concept and you’ve executed it fantastically for a jam. I also love the graphics, the palette is absolutely charming, and everything is so big and illustratively bold. One note: you probably want to make the “dead” cells on the strategy bold a very dark color, so that they stand out more when you’re placing.

\n

The only thing I’m missing (aside from the obvious audio) is a better indicator when you can’t place a piece. Right now it just disappears, which I think will confuse some players. Maybe you could turn it into an outline and leave it stuck to the mouse, unaligned with the grid when you drag it? That way you’d get a “snap” into solid color when it works, and a “snap” into outlines when there’s no valid position.

Wow, I love this idea so much! What a great concept, and the graphics are really good.

\n

However, the game left me a bit frustrated. Making me have to place my troops in reverse order is frustrating. Let the troops I place on the right side come out first, and the troops I place on the left side come out last, as that is what lines up with where they are on the screen. The disappearing pieces also made it hard, because if my cursor left the area by one pixel, piece gone. Piece turned the wrong way? Can’t see it to turn it back because it’s invisible.

\n

Finally the difficulty is too high too soon and seems almost random, as sometimes lesser troops do better than more. I couldn’t really work that out.

\n

It’s really a shame because I think if those things had been better sorted this would be my number one game of the year. I really really love the idea and would love to see it developed further.

Took me a while to work out what does what, but overall I enjoyed the fusion of concepts way more than I was expecting. I do love an auto-battler. I have to admit, I didn’t get that I was selecting a powerup after each wave and selected skip each time for a while.

Such a great idea, it was really fun to play!\nOne thing: the fights were too slow. Waiting around for 2 minutes just to see the tower defeat my units was a bit frustrating

This is cool! I like the design and motion of the units. Feels like little toy soldiers marching around.

\n

Gameplay is fun! I agree with another reviewer that the contrast should be higher on the grid for “unusable” squares (grayish purple) and “usable squares” (gray).

\n

Overall, really cool idea. I would totally play an expanded version!

Unfortunately, I could not rotate blocks: I have “search as you type” enabled in my browser, and you don’t call .preventDefault() on the key event, so when I try to rotate a block, instead the page search opens for me.

Except the audio, everything is perfect! Creativity unique theme, developed through the similar Tetris game, with non-monotonous game design, encouraging player to continue challenging themselves.

Fun combination of tetris and tower defense mechanics! The graphics and animations suit the game well. It would be nice if there were a count on-screen of the current number of soliders, or if they were prevented from overlapping, since sometimes it’s hard to tell how many you have left. The bonus mechanic is a nice addition to chain the rounds together!
