In this game, YOU will be the DEATH!\nYou have to choose between souls. If the Earth’s population grows too fast you will lose.

\n

You can click on small blue boxes to choose between the souls. You can see your points left to you, and don’t forget, this isn’t about time, but about morality.

I have to admit I don’t understand the game. I’m death, but the developer is the one who decided what’s moral? And I need to choose right? I’m supposed to be death itself!\nThe game is a bit buggy at first, there is only placeholder text in the beginning.\nNot very fun to play, but good graphics.

I’m not sure how to play this game. I tried to aim at the souls on earth, but it didn’t do anything. I then tried to look at the blue buttons, and it seems like it changes the person I can choose to remove from earth, I think. Some visual feedback and instructions would help me understand how to play the game.

\n

The graphics look pleasing and the theme is in place.

A nice planet model, was not sure which box was for kill / live.

The game isn’t very clear on what the rules are and little feedback to what’s happening is provided.

\n

I think I’m given the choice between two souls and I need to kill one of them: the left one or the right one.\nTook me a while to figure that out. I thought I was navigating back and forth between the souls and somehow my level was increasing…

How well was the topic of death integrated into the game?\nBeing Death is an exciting idea. I especially like the integration of having to decide which soul will be taken and the question of morality that goes along with it.\nThe effects of my actions on me, on the people I judge, and on the world are unclear and especially the intensity. Which morality affects population growth how and my score, consequently the game judges my moral decision.\nGame optimized for 13 kilobytes?\nLots of possibilities to reduce file size (document.getElementById…)\nPower of aframe not utilized but rather worked on DOM\nErrors in coding\nNo break in switch\nWhy loop over switch instead of running each case after eachother?\nScore is purely random\nWinning condition is impossible: population > 8974047463 && Math.floor(Math.random()*100)>=population\nGame adapted for WebXR?\nOn the desktop, I could move the screen around by moving the mouse and the objects adjusted to my viewing angle.\nI was not able to get in VR or start AR. It was possible to put the screen 360° around me, but no VR.\nDesign of the game?\nThe rotating world looks very good and has its own charm.\nThe game makes little use of the potential enabled by 3D,VR and AR.\nGame interface (intuitive)?\nDue to the clear number of click options, the choices are obvious.\nThe user interface makes it easy to understand what it is about. The 2 options look the same and do not influence my decision. Thus, the question about morality is reinforced.\nA great feature would be if the rise and fall of the population, and consequently a high or low population, had an effect on the visual appearance of the rotating Earth.\nHow is the game experience, getting started, understanding, fun?\nThe approach with morality has a lot of potential, predominantly certain character traits could visually influence the world.\nWithout the game description I would not have understood what the game is about. Due to no indication what extent the population and my score influences, my long-term motivation is low.

Doesn’t work with WebXR but uses cardboard-like interfaces? Can’t get this to work, nor figure out what should I do.

I couldn’t get this to work, navigation worked but not clicking. Maybe gaze dwell time as a secondary selection method would be good.

\n

The planet looks cool, liked the trees and clouds.

\n

Somehow, just looking around without interacting got me to level 3.

\n

Perhaps add a tutorial or make it more obvious what is going on.

I didn’t understand the game. While I could choose left or right it didn’t seem to make any difference what I did. There was no audio and while the graphics were fine for a 13k game, WebXR support with controllers did not work. I was not able to actually play in a VR headset and instead did it full screen on my computer with the mouse.

It looked impressive but I really did not understand what was happening or how I was affecting things.

I don’t really know how decisions affect population, graphics are ok, nice 3D planet

The Tinder/Papers, Please spin on Death is interesting. I’d like to see more visual feedback of the consequences of my choices (the global population counter isn’t very engaging emotionally, and it’s hard to see if my actions made it go up or down)\nVR feels underused by the gameplay (it could be a regular non-VR game as it is)

An exciting concept, and an interesting gameplay style of looking down on earth as you choose. I also enjoyed the depth of each ‘soul’ as it appears to be chosen, with many different traits.

\n

It is, though, quite awkward to control, which ruins immersion. Having to look at which soul to choose hides the ‘population’ number, which starts off very large, so I’m never really sure if its decreasing or not. It’s also unclear how my choices are affecting that. It is a complex system that needs some getting used to, so I think that this game would benefit of starting off easier, perhaps with smaller population. Thinking out loud, it would be cool to have different ‘levels’, where each ‘level’ presents a planet with a unique problem, and the choices made must be different.

\n

I would love to see this as a fully-featured game with better immersion.

The theme is a pretty clever idea. Being death and all the moral aspects of choosing who should stay… or not. I am a huge fan of death not and could almost see myself owning the book.

\n

The graphics are highly simple and the shadows are suffering from some kind of acne.

\n

The biggest trouble was to figure how to play and I am still trying to understand the rational between my choices and their overall impact on morality.

\n

I was not able to jump in VR but I would blame my setup.

\n

Well done for this great entry !!!
