Miss Fortune has been locked outside her apartment after a night on the town.
\nHelp Miss Fortune climb the building, dodge the angry tenants and cause a little chaos along the way.
\nUse all those 9 lives to reach the penthouse, or play in endless mode and see how high you can climb.
\nImportant:
\nThis game is intended to be challenging, and takes practice to master. The intro level is designed to teach you the platforming skills needed to navigate the game. It is strongly suggested you complete the intro level before jumping into endless mode.
\nControls:
\nLeft & Right (or A & D) - move left and right
\nUp (or W) - jump
\nJumping twice will perform a “double jump” which will allow Miss Fortune to reach the next windowsill.
\nTouch Controls:
\nUse the left joystick to move left & right. All buttons on the right hand side will jump, and pressing twice in succession will “double jump”.
\nGamepad:
\nGamepads are supported; use the left joystick to move left & right. All buttons will jump, and pressing twice in succession will “double jump”.

I also really appreciate the controller support! For a precision platformer, it makes such a big difference.
\nTwo small things that I think could improve the game a little. First is I think the cat has slightly too much momentum, it makes it feel a little too “slippery” when controlling. Its not bad once you get used to it, but still at times I felt like I died due to this.
\nSecond, it feels like doing well actually punishes you. Since you die when you fall below the screen, if I climb faster the bottom of the screen moves up faster. I’m actually incentivized to move much slower, at the pace the camera auto scrolls up, and play very safely.
\nI think if instead you had like a “death line”, that moved up at a constant pace, that would incentivize players to move faster. If you fall below the death line, you die, but otherwise you just fall until you land on a platform. This way if they jump up faster, they buy themselves more buffer to fall safely (you are a cat after all, you can fall a long way safely).
\nAnyway, those are two small tweaks that I think would really add to the games replayability. But this is a solid foundation that while simple, is definitely fun!

Jumping to a platform directly above you was pretty tricky but once I got the hang of it I made it to the penthouse. Not before a lot of swearing (in a good way) and a few good soakings, though! Smashing those pots was a lot of fun and soundtrack matches gameplay nicely.

I would’ve maybe added wall jump or something like that to make the jumps a bit different, but the game is already rather fun as it is. Good luck!

I really like the strechiness of the cat and the story of getting back home and smashing flower pots on the way - it sounds like what a cat would really do. I think it is a solid little platformer, great work!

\nIt was a bit too hard for me though, I couldn’t get to the end. I found it hard to master the jump when the next windowsill is directly above you, it’s just too tight.
\nIt is pretty addictive though and good idea to add the gamepad controls, which make it much more comfortable to play. Well done!

\nIf I pick this back up, It might be worth while teaching the player a little more in the intro stage on how to handle tight jumps, or even relax them. If you’re playing on mobile, I sympathize, it takes even more practice.

\nI enjoyed how you had an intro round to explain the game play. I am a big fan of this. I also liked how you made it optional. Sometimes the practise round is forced upon users, even if they have played a lot - which did not happen here. Well done!
\nThere were a lot of things that could kill the cat - which would make it super challenging if you didn’t have 9 lives - so I think the balance is quite good. Could it be improved a bit however? Perhaps there is no need to kill the cat if she goes outside of the left and right building perimeter? She is just pushed back in?
\nThe graphics, musics and sound effects came together really nicely.
\nOverall a wonderful entry and great fun!

\nYeah, had a hard time making the controls feel consistent across mobile, desktop, and with a gamepad. If I pick this back up, I’ll work on it.

The controls work great and the difficulty level is hard but I guess it is intended for hardcore gamers. Art and sound are a bit dull but this is understandable considering the memory limit. More variation in the level design is perhaps a higher priority.

Definitely for those players who would invest the time to build the muscle memory required to traverse a precision platformer.
\nI took inspiration from classic platformers where practice was key for success. Lionking, Aladdin, Super Mario, for example.
\nThankyou for the feedback

\nI love the music, especially after playing several several entries with no audio at all! Goes pretty perfectly with the gameplay also.
\nThe main thing I am confused about is the “score” at the end. Are you supposed to knock things off, or try not to? I guess it could go either way. I get that you play endless mode and see how high that you can go, but it would also be nice to have “levels” you progress through and see how fast that you can complete them. You could just automatically pick a random seed as you advance to the next level and keep going like that.
\nFun gameplay and great implementation!

I felt like a that’d be what a frustrated cat would do; smash as much stuff as possible.
\nLevels would have been a nice addition given more time and space to design them.

I found the controls a bit finicky when double jumping and moving sideways at the same time. I would have liked to have jumping separated from left and right, perhaps jumping also on space (sure I can jump on W and move left and right using arrow keys or vice versa). The stretched out cat when jumping is a nice visual touch!
\nI also think maybe you could get rid of the normal game mode and only focus on the endless mode. This is the only one that is a proper challenge.
