Welcome to the World of Liminal Gap.
\nEvil corporations have taken control of our data and placed it all in the cloud. Personal data possession is illegal now.
\nOnly you, the Liminal Gap Runner, can save the day by traversing abandoned spaces looking for data, and uploading it to private FTP servers. Lucky for us, the Liminal Gap Plumber Union is not part of the Cartel. They control the Liminal Gap jump pads and allow data couriers like yourself to use them in exchange for data uploads.
\nSo keep enough data to use the jump pads. But be careful! Do not exceed your capacity! Maybe famous data couriers like Johnny could carry 80 or even 160 GB. But you should never exceed your 13MB limit, or you’ll have a very bad day. Always upload excess data.
\nWASD - Movement\nMouse or Cursor Keys - Look around
\nActive jump pads are orange and can be used to upload data along your jump across the liminal gap. You need some data to be collected to unlock them. And they’re single use only - after the upload jump they will not be active again.\nConsider that while planning your route across the Liminal Gap!

The controls are a little sensitive, but manageable after a little practice. The sound effects were great too. I uploaded 22 GB of data. Well done!

\nI don’t see any problems with control and movement, I think it’s predictable enough to get used to it in 1min.
\nI like the background story, I wish to have a bit more in the gameplay itself. But I know that it’s impossible to put 3d and gameplay in 13k.
\nNice entry!

The graphics platform load animation is super cool. Love the random load for all the platforms and floppy disks. Would be cool to have levels too, maybe start a little easier for the first bit to get familiar with the in-game dynamics and keys, then make it harder and harder; also I didn’t know if the game had an “end goal” for if it was never-ending. Great job though, had some fun playing this one.
\nGreat sound effects. One or two might have been out of synch, but great work. Add some music for a little extra touch, but I know you’re at the 13kB limit.
\nNice GitHub repo and README, could probably put\nsome of the files in a ‘src’ folder if you wanted to make it a little tidier.

\nYes, sound effects add up when you upload a lot of data, I should’ve done something to limit it.
\nAnd music is something I really wanted to include but I totally missed my space budget and had to cut a lot of content to squeeze it back into 13k :)

You should call .preventDefault() on all keyboard events to prevent this.
Interesting concept, nice and clean first person graphics.\nAnd i never thought, that anyone in the world would know Johnny Mnemonic! :-D
\nA little extra music would add much to the atmospere of the game. And maybe some cyberpunk enemies? Like ICE… (Intrusion Countermeasures Electronics)
\nHowever: smooth controls and overall good game-feeling. Solid entry!

\nYes, physics and movement dynamics are something I wish I invested a little more into. After all - it is the core of any endless runner game.\nInitially, I was looking at the bunny-hopping mechanics of Quake, but I never managed to get it quite right.
\nP.S. About the jump height - the game has a bug/feature when you land on a jump pad and press Space at the same time, the pad launches you anomaly high, almost in the stratosphere. I decided to leave it as is since there is some enchantment in these powerful jumps.

\nThe floppy disks are quite retro, but look great.
\nThe jumps are quite generous, so getting across gaps is fairly easy, but with the power of orange jumps your range is so much further - which is neat.
\nBecause you can’t see yourself (i.e. 1st person view) it can be tricky to know just how close you are to the edge, and falling off the edge is a bit perilous.

\nSo no, I didn’t have any issues with the controls nor pace. In fact, I’d have loved it a bit trickier and more dynamic. Possibly with the occasional platforms moving, rotating, disappearing?
\nShoutout to the - if I understand it right - cross-generational family effort :) It’s great to see nearly the entire age range in the competition.

Brought me old memories when I was zipping and cutting things in pieces because all I had were floppy disks to store stuff. For real :D
\nI wish the “punishment” for going over the limit was a bit stronger - or as soon as you upload too much data, bots (drones? security counter-hackers?) would chase you down or something. But in general I have to say this is the game that better fits the theme: I truly felt bits of triskaidekaphobia while jumping around, grabbing data, checking the 13MB limit… in a way it felt a bit like working on a js13k entry where you are constantly trying to push your limits without going over the size and time constraint.
\nVery cool game overall :)
