\nMade it to level 5 then wasted all my ammo trying to shoot too much.

It’s craving some 8bit sound effects for sure.\nI don’t understand the goal of the game nor the purpose of building walls. Is it for protection?\nI was able to just sprint through the whole map in 5 seconds for the first 3 stages. Stages 4-5 got a bit trickier with all the enemies and the walls. And by stage 6 it was impossible to go forward. There was just walls everywhere and my gun can’t break walls. Not sure what I’m supposed to do after that.\nThe controls are simple, but could be improved a bit. Pressing and holding to move is too slow, and then when it starts moving it’s too fast. I believe you used the keypress event, which has that behaviour. Instead of should detect keydown and then keyup to make the movement uniform.\nBut the graphics are top. Great job.

\nThe enemies didn’t seem to attack me much or hunt me down.
\nIt felt odd pressing a key twice to change direction. Moving one grid space at a time was a bit restrictive.
\nI wasn’t sure why I would build walls, as I felt pretty safe from the enemies.
\nPlenty of scope for a version 2, I look forward to seeing it again
\nSome sound would be good.

Thankfully, you can shoot them, although they take multiple shots to hit and often move out of the path of your bullets right at the moment they’re going to get hit!
\nThere are more advanced zombies that move a lot quicker, and you, too, have the ability to build walls - although I didn’t find a reason to need to do this. Strangely, you cannot remove walls, which means it’s easy to get blocked in a space you cannot escape.
\nThe graphics suited the game really well with a nice 8-bit vibe. Some sound effects would have been good, but I didn’t mind the lack of them, and the grid-like movement controls were easy to grasp after a short while.
\nI would have really liked for the ammo to refill at the start of each level, as the further you get, the quantity of zombies increases exponentially. Starting Level 3 with just 20 ammo left, I knew I was never going to complete it, long before I actually died.

I also love the way the colours on the logo change when you press buttons. Little pieces of detail like this are awesome.\nInstructions could be a little more instructive :P but then again it is relatively intuitive. However, selecting the square before moving to it is a little odd. The way the screen moves to scroll is also a little jarring.
\nWould love to be able to use the WASD keys. Some chiptune music would go really nicely with the 8-bit graphics.
\nThe complete stage graphic is cool. Good to have things like this to encourage the user.
