A game where you try to make your cat come back to you. You, as the good owner you are, know the exact behavior of your cat. Knowing this you can place blockades to take advantage of its behavior by placing blockades.

Not sure why the cat disappears when I press “start cat”

There’s a lot going on in the UI but then the game itself is kind of trivial… I basically barfed blocks into the field while the cat was running to force him into the goal.

What is the point? You just surround the cat with brown blocks and make them go straight to the end. Everything else in the map is pointless.

Thats a good base for a cat-simulator programming game.

Some (hopefully) constructive thoughts:

\n\n

PS: Why the heck is the cat orange instead of BLACK as in the gamejams theme ;-)

This would had been a great entry if there were more levels and challenges to it. Also, coming into the game, I thought I would be learning basic concepts of computer scicense or something, because of the title. Anyway thank you for making your demo and my God bless.

I think this is a very unique and interesting concept, but I did find that the cat randomly disappeared when I tried to guide it. I also found it frustrating the cat would just change direction at random as well.

Stupid me is pretty confused as to how the game supposed to work at the first 5 minutes. It’s pretty unique tho

I was SO pumped for this game. Imagine the disappointment when there is only one level. The concept is very strong for a great puzzle game. Please build more.

\n

The menu/controls could have been a lot cleaner and the descriptions more succinct (also the cat turns right, not left, doesn’t it?).

\n

Sounds and even music would have been a great addition. I will also point out the obvious: This cat isn’t black.

Very innovative game! You should have at least made the cat black though; you would have gotten way more theme points!

\n

This is such a cool concept. I’m not sure why you put the home so close to the cat since you have only 1 level. Maybe you ran out of time to make more levels?

\n

It’s very interesting that you never know which way that the cat is going to go when you start the cat again. I’m not sure if you are supposed to play real time or arrange blocks before you start the cat, but I did a little of both.

Interesting concept, not unlike others I’ve seen before. But why isn’t the cat black?

\n

I think there’s a bug where the first time you start a game, the cat is nowhere to be seen, and then you lose. Once you reset, the cat appears. The cat always reset to the same location. Making it spawn in a random location would have been an easy way to add diversity to the game.

\n

The fact that the cat starts in a random direction (although there’s an indicator) seems like only a point of frustration, and is not that fun. The levels can be won by sheer brute force, adding blocks everywhere. But kudos for attempting this kind of game, as it can get quite complex!

Hey Nischal,

\n

Great work on this submission - truly a unique game!

\n

You did great on the instructions and its a cool concept for gameplay. Small detail is that its “black cat”, but overall a good submission!

\n

I recorded a video review for all the games here so that you can see my initial reaction while playing, which is often quite helpful from a user experience perspective. https://www.youtube.com/live/jl6pC4OnVJA?si=hadQmN9JZB93hDUM

Good luck in the competition and good job!

Cool concept

\n

I enjoyed trying your game

\n

Graphics were simple but worked well

\n

Certainly tricky to get the cat to do what you want - just like real life I guess
