Tutorial
\nHow to play jazz music - youtube
The concept is interesting and the Catwoman animation is really nice! However it seems to me your entry is not really a game (with objective, puzzles to solve, score…) but a kind of proof of concept. I’m sure the idea to mix a platformer with a music game is a great idea and has a lot of potential.

It’s more of a gentle visual cue than a punishment. And like the instruction says, there’s no penalty for missing. So she just keeps going. Anything more than that would negate the Zen vibe.

\nI like the concept of a music platformer
\nThe music is there, but down to the skill level of the player as to how good it is
\nMore of an amusement than a game
\nAlthough it “plays” on desktop the experience is much better on phone/tablet/touch - I wouldn’t have included it in the desktop category

\nI love your GitHub and README, and taking the time to do a post mortem would have been so valuable to you, so nicely done.
\nYou have a really solid base for your game. I couldn’t work out the jazz notes however, and regardless of whether I played the game or not (ie. touched the controls), cat woman kept running and jumping either way…
\nDefinitely worked a lot better in mobile, and liked the idea of using sound to jump.

It feels a little like you had an idea but might have run out of time.
\nI do like the way the bit of story tied in the theme and it does feel like a good start!

The whole concept is derived from the jazz tutorial in the instructions. Perhaps look at the jazz tutorial first and then you’ll understand what you need to do. Again, there’s more than one note. There’s seven notes. The challenge is to play something that sounds like jazz and jump at the same time. In other words, you need to fit that middle note into your jazz composition. This is an unorthodox approach…but you can make it fun if you try just a little harder.

So if I click on different places, different notes play, like an invisible on-screen piano. But only the note in the middle makes her jump? I guess you worked so hard on the cat woman animation that you ended up not being able to create actual game play. That makes me sad because I saw how much work you put into the protagonist. I would suggest that next time you focus on having a prototype and then later improve the protagonist assets.

I’m not sure why the notes are hidden and what hitting them has to do with the game, outside of the middle note causing a jump. However, the jump itself doesn’t really matter either ultimately as nothing really happens when you miss it.
\nI think I would’ve liked better with more interactions between the character and the notes, some advantages for hitting the notes / obstacles for not getting the notes right and if there were some win / lose conditions as well but I understand that it was meant to be an endless relaxing toy really.
\nGreat animation and audio though, very well presented!
