“I’ve Been Ghosting” is a point and click animated adventure game.
\nYou control a ghost who doesn’t know her name, or how she died, but who offers to help a visitor called Pip to learn more about DEATH as part of his research for building a js13kgames entry. Soon the ghost realises it is Pip that is helping her to remember something.
\nControl the ghost by using the Float to, Look at, Listen to, Touch, and Whisper to icons at the bottom of the screen.
\nFloat to: Used for moving around, but you can only walk 1 metre from your urn!!
\nLook at: Used for examining an item or something in the current scene.
\nListen to: Used for listening to an item or something in the current scene.
\nWhisper to: Used for talking to other characters in the game, although your voice may need a little electronic help.

I think it would have been nice not to reset the selected “click type” after clicking on something.

Amazing use of the limited resources. Unfortunately some emoji were missing on my font, like the urn.\nThe clicking was a little bit glitchy, or maybe it’s the deformations in the image that cause it. Basically clicking on certain objects would sometimes click on other things, or on the character. It would have been nice if the objects would get a highlight on hover, but I guess the subtitle already helps a bit.\nThe sound effects were nice, though the wind sounds had breaks.\nI didn’t have time to finish the story, but will try to return later. Great job.

\nThe action buttons kept changing which made clicking on everything harder than it should have been.
\nNice music.
\nPlayed quite a while but didnt get anywhere, any tips?

\nWas the beating sound, the heartbeat of pip?
\nGot a little frustrating that the control kept changing to float, I wanted to change it to look, so I could look around, but each click reverted back to float.
\nI’m afraid I couldn’t work out how to progress. I couldn’t move from the fire, I tried all the interactions with as many things as I could and didn’t make any positive progress.
\nPerhaps an easier introduction area to understand the concepts would be good.
\nI did play again, and got the sprit box on and talked to it as far as getting pip to move to the door, but then got stuck again.

I found the control a bit confusing, as it was always switching back to ¨float to“ instead of staying in my last selection. Maybe too many unnecessary actions available, like interacting with objects that don´t do anything during the whole game. All in all a very cool entry, played till the end :)

It’s clear a lot of attention went into the game world. Unfortunately the controls as so tedious I gave up on the second screen. If performing actions wasn’t a six step process I definitely would have kept playing, as it looks so cool and the idea is great!
\nHere are some suggestions from my point of view:
\nIf you made these changes I would LOVE to play again and go farther! I really do love the idea it just needs to be a bit more user friendly. Your concept and the world you create are super intriguing!

\nThe graphics are well executed. The story is well thought out.
\nYou could focus now on improving ergonomics. You could use some shortcuts after the player discovers how to do some things. So they don’t need to repeat the same steps over and over again.
\nAs a thought experiment, what if you could just use left-click (move), or right-click (use)? How differently you would design the logic of a game?

I listened, touched, and whispered to everything around me, but I never understood how to continue. Maybe the characters could give some helpful hints? At least in the beginning. Maybe I just missed them. The idea is good, the animation of the main character is nice, and the atmosphere is creepy (good thing given the theme.)
\nGood use of emoji. I wish I didn’t have to click the “point”-action after every time I pointed at something.

I got a little ways, but couldn’t figure out how to get Pip to pick up the urn. From reading other comments, looks like people were able to do it. All the same, I did enjoy it. All the graphics made sense, good point and click adventure mechanics. Felt really thought out. Wish I could have seen all the content!

\nYou take on the role of a ghost who must help a visitor called Pip learn more about death. You can float around, although not too far from your urn, and either interact or get Pip to interact with the various objects you find. You can use the spirit box to allow Pip to hear you, and once you have convinced him to carry your urn, you’re free to explore the rest of the house.
\nThe puzzles are mostly straightforward, although you do have to do things in a specific order sometimes, and it helps to remember that you are a ghost and not everything in a haunted house makes sense.
\nI loved the use of emojis for lots of the graphics and the atmospheric sound effects that thrums like a heartbeat. I managed to get through several rooms and will happily return to this to see if I can complete it fully. It’s great to see an adventure game for an entry and even better to see one so perfectly on theme, too.

I would work on polishing the UX, clicking on the verbs was a bit tedious. Also, I’d tone down the difficulty, at least on the beginning. I couldn’t figure out how to progress from the start.
