The game features weather events and events that happen at specific times of the day… keep your eyes and your ears open!

I really love the feel of the game. The black and white base display, and the ability to look out the window give it a strange melancholy vibe that fits the game well.

\n

Personally I think having a checklist in game would have made it more fun, although admittedly maybe too easy? I just felt that some of the things were quite obscure. And I still would have to find the right items and use them in the right way, place, and time, even with the checklist. Having it only at the end felt just too hard.

\n

Still a super cool idea with a really nice presentation, which I will still probably come back to at least a couple times to try to get just a little more unlucky :)

The concept is interesting, and you managed to put a lot of content in the game, but i feel like a lot of the game is about just clicking everything trying to trigger everything. Many interesting details though, like the crack on the floor. A lot of these bad luck things I literally never heard before. The game design is well planned out and the controls are pretty easy to grasp.\nAt some point I heard a cat, but I’m not sure where it was or how to find it.\nMy final score was a measly 14/26 :)\nBig kudos on the intro and ending bed animation though!

It’s an impressive game, truly; and very innovative too; although I think there might be a few ideas to improve the game, such as a score on the supersitions visible at all times; and maybe even an achievement when you fulfill it. You might also want to fix the umbrella rotation (i know it’s very specific but it feels a bit weird). Other than that; maybe explaining that items can only be used in specific places, at the beginning I tried drag & dropping them, clicking or right cliking them; for instance to try and break a mirror with knives/ scissors. Good game overall, congratulations!

Well done implementing such highly detailed visuals elements in such a small size. The audio is also very high quality. The gameplay leaves a very strong first impression visually, but that impression doesn’t hold up for me once I started playing. The SVG artwork looks ambitious and stylish at a glance, yet it comes across blurry depending on the browser, which makes the presentation feel unfinished. The visuals set a high expectation of depth and polish, but the actual gameplay is extremely simple and quickly gets cheated after you first decide to sleep. Instead of discovering mechanics naturally, you’re left guessing at obscure superstitions, most of which are unfamiliar and confusing just to get them all spoiled at the end. This undermines the sense of fun and replaces it with frustration, because the only way forward is to consult a list that reads more like a trivia. I was able to memorize and find most of the list in just a few minutes after reading it. Really good job on the sounds and theme the game was pretty fun the first few times around :)

Congrats again for your graphics. The thing Firefox doesn’t like (it’s a known bug but I discovered it mid-dev) is taking a small svg (mine are 99x99px to save space) and scaling / translating / rotating them using css transforms. When we do that, Firefox rasterizes the svg as a 99x99px bitmap and then scales the raster, hence the blur.

Minor suggestions: it’d be nice to give a little bit more indication of what is happening, I was getting PTSD from the old point-and-click adventure games where you just start mashing on everything in every room. What a cool adventure game! So many options, it was like a collection of miniature puzzles where you mostly had to do one thing to each object, a brainstorm session of unlucky activities. What a good idea for a game, and it fits the theme perfectly. There were tons of superstitions that I’d never heard of before! I really liked the opening and closing cinematics of the foot and title, that was very stylish. The music didn’t fit the game and seemed to trivialize the feel for me, somehow, I think it was just the wrong choice of song. I wish it was a different, more sinister-sounding song, or even just some night wind howling or wooshes instead, or some unlucky sounding chords and dissonance rather. But the music wasn’t the point, and it was fine, that’s a very minor aesthetic opinion. The best part of the game was all the cool interactions. I had tons of fun clicking everything! Amazing work!!

Hah, this is great. At first I wasn’t sure if I would like it, but it really drew me in! Like any good point-and-click, it does involve lots of clicking on everything, but the puzzles are so well hidden and thought out that it’s not enough to just click mindlessly and hope for the best. I managed to get 16/26, although some of those were pure luck. Others were fully intentional, though–I was proud of myself when I managed to pull off the ladder one (not saying what it was to avoid spoilers). The simple graphics work really well and remind me of The Kingdom of Loathing a bit, except for the top-down view. Overall, I was impressed by how much detail and content there is, for example how you animate things like pulling up a chair. I also had a good laugh when I opened the umbrella and my little guy disappeared underneath it completely.

Overall, great use of vector graphics and interactivity, I had fun playing it and trying to find as many of the superstitions by myself as I can - I got to around 17 (2 by mistake?) and I learned a lot of new ones. I feel like it’s risky to make something so dependent on cultural norms though, I found myself pretty much just randomly clicking on things eventually in hopes of triggering something because most of these superstitions were completely foreign to me, so I had no chance of figuring them out naturally. Absolutely mind-blowing what you packed into 13 KB! The graphics, audio, and the entire point-and-click adventure mechanic in under the limit is insane. I never thought something like this was possible at this size.

The superstition concept is super creative and unique. Only managed 8 out of 26 on my first try - some objectives were hard to figure out without more hints, but that’s part of the challenge I guess! The art style is gorgeous and the sound design fits perfectly.

One of the most impressive technical achievements I’ve seen in this jam. Incredible work!

It was very interesting to discover the world that you built and see what you can do. Was thinking at some point if put a ladder next to the wall — I can get to the roof :D

The idea is very unusual and feels very innovative. Slightly reminded me old picture based puzzle games :) And the sounds and music very nice! Good job!

Thanks a lot! Going on the roof or on the tree was considered, but I lacked time and space to add it :)
