Grave Quest is a high intensity, first person, voxel-graveyard wave shooter for Desktop & Oculus Quest.
\nThe instructions are simple; As ghosts rise from the grave, point and shoot!\nJust don’t let them hit your heart and you should survive the night!
\nDesigned for Oculus Quest; hand-tracking controls also work, just blast away the tormented skulls by pointing your fingers at them!
\nAlso playable at https://grave.quest/

I liked the sound effects, music and graphical style. The shots didn’t seem to go where the cursor was pointing so I had to fire then aim later .

Fast paced and fun! After I got to about 20 score enemies stopped appearing, I cleared all of the stationary items and it seems every enemy.

Combined with some ingenuity and a good compression the game has a lot of content in <13kB.\nGame adapted for WebXR?\nThe integration with WebXR is very well done.\nReaching special places by moving towards them would add to the immersive experience.\nHand tracking works very well. The half-extended finger already starts to shoot, which confuses and makes me involuntarily shoot at the ground from time to time.\nDesign of the game?\nThe design fits very well with the setting.\nThe many, bright and different colors add little to the setting and experience. Uniform colors and appropriate contrasts would help a lot with comprehensibility and recognizability.\nGame interface (intuitive)?\nIt is clear what to do.\nDue to the bright colors and the strong scattering effects when objects are hit, it can get very confusing from time to time and I don’t know at all what’s going on and where the enemy is located.\nThe heart sometimes hides the enemies.\nAs mentioned above, an adjusted color scheme and appropriate contrasts would greatly assist orientation.\nGame experience, getting started, understanding, fun?\nThe game is a lot of fun and the ability to shoot everything and even continue shooting fragments is very fun. A timer, points and a leaderboard would increase the long-term motivation a lot.\nThe scattering effect has a very strong influence on the playability. This scattering effect is amplified by: Enemies and objects can be shot into fragments, fragments can continue to be shot at and these move through the room as a result, and the projectiles of the weapons bounce off the ground.\nA reduction or strong visual delineation of secondary objects would increase the fun of the game because the player has better control over what happens and consequently the learning curve is steeper.

I didn’t see where I was shooting. There were a lot of sound effects, and fireworks of pixel splatter show which was cool. I wish I had a VR headset so I could play it.

It’s a great new twist on space invaders. The graphics with the stretchy pixel shapes are also great. The weak spots are the audio (needs more background music) and the controls. I found it difficult to see where I was pointing and accurately hit the ghosts. Making the shooter pointers longer would help (right now they are just a single cube each), as would having some sort of targeting overlay. Also, the score graphics get in the way of seeing the monsters. They should have been further away from the action during rounds.
\nI really enjoyed it. I encourage you to continue working on it.

\nOn Firefox on Mac, the textures look perfect, but a “pink wall” keeps covering up the play area so you can’t see it (some kind z issue?)
\nEither way, the game seems fun, the audio is great, the look of the flickering ghosts and your gun is nice. Gameplay-wise I wasn’t sure how to avoid getting shot, it seemed inevitable that eventually a ghost shoots you and you can’t dodge or anything (maybe this means I wasn’t downing them fast enough).
\nCool game!

The voxelized graphics fits very cool the theme while keeping the space low enough. Especially because this entry doesn’t use any of the recommended engines so extra congratulations for fitting everything under 13kb, the content and the engine!\nIt is very satisfying to shoot objects, even the score, and see how they explode into pieces.

\nI first tried this on Chrome and found some weird, yet interesting, rendering artefacts. On Safari it works great, though. The audio can get quite annoying, so I found myself muting the tab.

\nIt is a pretty fast pace survivor with its own style and mechanics. I really enjoyed trying to save my heart, Well done.
\nTechnically, the game is smooth and fully functional from start to end.
\nThe only downside I can see is the over pronounced effects making it really hard to stay in VR with getting a seizure :-) but I totally get that it is part of the style.
\nWell done for this great entry !!!
