I spent aaaages dying to the first monster… and then I realised I had a jet pack xD

Quite a simple sidescroller, the collision between the shapes is a too big for the shapes themselves though.

I like the time-traveller theme.

I thought the first level was impossible until I figured out the jetpack. Then the game was very compelling.

I died so, so many times, but I kept wanting to try again. The level design was very good for that. It felt like success was just one “press R” away. Thanks for making me restart at the same level when I died.

Some power-ups like temporary invincibility on the early levels would have been nice to give the feeling of easy success and progress / ramping difficulty.

I enjoyed playing this game.

The sound effects were good. I liked all the little characters.

\n

The enemies seemed to be much better shots than you, as they could direct their shots rather than only being able to shoot horizontally.

Perhaps the jetpack shouldn’t have infinite fuel?

I found having to restart completely when you were hit a bit difficult, perhaps having a health bar would be good?

In order for the player to get that there is a jetpack right away, maybe have the character fly-in the stage initially?\nI’m not very good at this games, so I gave up on stage 4, but if there was a checkpoint, it would have helped me.\nVery nice sounds. Would love better character sprite/animation (check Apple ][ Hero game).\nNot convinced about the theme though..

Flying is satisfying, both the sound and the particles are lovely. Everything moves kind of fast, I get killed in an instant.

The game is insteresting but extremely hard for my abilities.

Even after deciding on using the jetpack for everything I struggled to kill the 3 enemies from the first level.

Just a small remark: I was playing on German keyboard, and the Z letter is swapped with the Y, so it became a bit uncomfortable to play. I would also often get confused and press the letter R when I wanted to press Z (they are just one key apart in the German keyboard). Maybe using enter or some more distinct key for restart could be an option.

It is running at different speeds depending on the monitor refresh rate. A bit too fast at 144 Hz and very slow at 60 Hz.

Wayyyyy too hard. This game has too many bullets and not enough time for the gamer to enjoy. The other items are all fine.

For me game is SUPER fast\nNo option to react to bullets. Maybe you are using some fixed FPS without time correction, but on your PC it’s too low\nReally impossible to play

The jetpack physic are really cool. Unfortunately though the game runs way to fast for me (I have a 120hz monitor). You need to either use the timestamp from requestAnimationFrame to adjust your physics, or lock your frame rate. It would also be nice to have a larger play window.

Due to the issues I didn’t get very far, but I think there are some nice base physics here and if you tweak a few issues it could be really fun!

The pop-up about the level information disappears very quickly, I don’t have time to read the text. It would be good to have information about the number of all green crystals in the level, so that you know how many more you need to collect and do not miss anything. I can pass through the ground from below, that is, there is a collision under the feet, but not under the head in the territories that are in the air.

The last level is hard…. Maybe if the jet pack had a recharge time, it would be harder and more interesting and also increase the game to full screen, and also support of the WASD movement additionaly :).

Nice work with this action game. Going around with a jetpack is always fun!

The graphics and sound work well to create atmosphere. There could be character animation and music of course, but I think the elements here fit well together. The lighting and the dim patterns in the background make it look really interesting. And the particle effects are cool! While I don’t mind that the game runs in a small frame, it would be more pleasing to the eye if the background color of the website was darker and the frame horizontally centered.

The controls work quite well. A couple of things could improve the gameplay, however. First: I often noticed the enemies when they were too close to avoid, so the camera could be aimed better, perhaps taking player’s movement direction in account. Second: collisions of the bullets with the player could be calculated with a smaller box than what the sprites are, in order to give the player a good “close call” feeling when avoiding the bullets.

I finished the game after about an hour and a half of playing (well, I’m quite clumsy with action games :)) It was often difficult, but it did’t feel unfair though, with enough practice it was doable. There is good variety in the levels.
