Great effort. I really liked the background and how it scales out so nicely when you put distance between the combatants.

I was afraid people would complain about the camera moving too much. :D\nThanks for the feedback!

A very tough genre to attempt and this is a good effort, nice graphics including the background.

\n

Made it to level 6 where an ememy with a sword killed me, would have been nice to have a chance against them, needed some upgrades maybe :D

\n

Scored high on innovation as you never see this type of game.

The idea of the game was that you would lose, and start playing again, collecting the items from the enemies you defeat and slowly get stronger and stronger. It is a bit too hard to collect the items (sometimes you get two swords but you don’t have an armor), and this is where I wished people would exchange items in the shop.

I liked the character design. For some reason, it made the fight look rather funny. Nice work on the graphics!

I made it to look like it is a kind of sport rather than fighting for your life, even though it is not historically accurate. Thanks for the feedback!

It’s generally great game. It’s pretty innovative in my opinion.\nSome PROs:

\n\n

Unfortunately, there are some minor drawbacks:

Yeah, I noticed that sometimes when I was playing I could get far in the game while still having a very basic sword, which made the game too hard. I hoped this would serve as an incentive for people to exchange items through the NEAR store, but that didn’t happen.

the graphics used in the game were nice and the game itself was very interesting! just that some hits on the opponent didn’t have an effect and there were delays on the controls. also a finish page/display would have been a nice touch win/lose :)\noverall it was nice!

The controls can be a bit frustrating, I know, but it is part of the game. It is all about synchronizing your movement. Thanks for the feedback!

The game seems nice, but the fact I need to buy items through NEAR kind of limits the playability. I was expecting to be able to steal the armor and swords of the defeated.\nReally nice graphics, atmosphere and animations. Would be nice to be able to use just the keyboard instead of having to change to the mouse to click on buttons.

Yeah, after playing the submitted version I also thought I should have added some keyboard shortcuts. In the development version I had keys that would instantly defeat the opponent, go to the next opponent, etc. It didn’t disturb me during development, so I missed that.\nAbout stealing the items from the defeated, you actually can do that. If you defeat one opponent there is a chance that one of their items will drop and you can pick it up. The only thing you can do in the NEAR store is to exchange the items you collected with other people. So I would say it limits the playability. It easens it, or enhances it.

Very refined graphics! The gameplay is nice and simple but the starting enemies are a bit boring to fight since they mostly just stand there. It’d be nice if the opening levels were more fun to play since you have to start over when you lose. Hiding a major mechanic of the game behind NEAR is unfortunate, but it is what it is.

Once you get a sword the first enemies are so easy to beat that it didn’t bother me that much, since you can defeat them almost always with one hit. But maybe it would have been better if I had estimated the level of the player based on their items and started from a slightly more advanced level directly. Thanks for the feedback!

Not my style of game but it looks graphically very good. The movement is a little bit clunky or slow-paced.

\n

I played through a couple of levels where I managed to defeat the enemies without any upgrade and suddenly I get one-shotted by someone.

\n

Having to use NEAR shop limits the game massively.

You don’t actually HAVE to use the NEAR shop. It is just there in case you want to exchange the items with other players. Sure, it makes the game a bit easier cause sometimes the items you expect don’t drop for very long time, but it was supposed to be part of the challenge. Thanks for the feedback!

This seems like a fairly sophisticated game, really nice job on the execution!

\n

I didn’t want to create an account to access the in-game shop, so it became extremely challenging to progress past a few enemies. I don’t blame the game for this design decision, but it does make it more difficult to appreciate the full game.

\n

The AI sometimes seems unresponsive. At specific distances, the enemy will idle until the player approaches or attacks.

Pretty impressive 3d looking graphics.

\n

The fighting mechanic is good, although feels a little jerky.

\n

The dude with the sword is unforgiving, feel like I need a weapon to even consider taking him on.

The near wallet implementation was wonderful! After every buy in-game it wrote on the chain a buy smart contract, loved seeing that. Gamefi :-)
