Deathmatch Dungeon is a multiplayer game where mages battle it out in the classic deathmatch tradition in a pixel art style.

The aim is to kill as many opponents as you can in a three minute timed round whilst dying as few times as possible.

A new round will start as soon as there are at least two players in the dungeon. Anyone can join at any time. A winner will be declared after the three minutes is up.

\n

Pick up scrolls to get a random, different magical ability. Collect potions to restore health.

Looks like a potentially cool game, nice retro visuals and sounds with various pick-ups around the arena. I was unable to try the game fully as there were no other players available, some bots for target practice would be good!

I used two tabs and played against myself, it ran really well.

Nice sounds, animations and level design. really nice pixel art.

Nice, server entries are always so fun! I used 2 tabs to play against myself. Beautiful pixel art. Smooth net code. Nice array of powerups. Really great job!

Great game.\nI tried it with two tabs because I have no friends, and noticed an interesting behaviour. The game goes standby in the background tab, and the damage also goes “standby”. When I return to the other tab, i suddenly take all damage instantly. So the damage is calculated client side? That means if i leave my tab in the background, I can’t be killed and I always win.\nOther than that, fun game. Would love to play it with more people, as I’m really curious how the dynamics would go. Would I be able to catch potions before I’m killed?\nThe art is quite good, as are the power ups and the sounds. I’m impressed given the size.\nWould be cool if the map was randomized on each round. Also, when I’m invisible, I’m also apparently invulnerable to attacks. That’s a bit too OP. The runes/mines should maybe become invisible after a while otherwise they are easily avoidable. Would be nice to know how long spells last.

I spent ages playing this game with my wife.

Love the gameplay, has that battle arena feel to it. Like a top down unreal tournament. Power ups work really well!

This looks like a fun game, and can see how it would work well with multiple players.

The graphics are really good, the pixel size and palette used look great and work well for the theme.

\n

Shame I wasn’t able to find other players online, on the occasions I tried it. I’d like to see some AI characters in the mix for the occasions when nobody is online or to be a target so multiple players could team up and fight the AI or all go head-to-head.

At first I was thinking the character would look better if they looked left and right as they walked left and right, but then I realised moving the mouse was what made them flip rather than the direction they were going in.

Awesome multiplayer deathmatch game you made. It has very simple but really polished gameplay, its lots of fun and the different power ups you can pick up, provide nice variety. Its very easy to pick up and start. This is actually a cool game to come back to, to have a quick round of fun with friends.

Some kind of lobby function would be cool, other then that really great game, awesome job! One of my favourites this year :)

A few simple bots would have helped a lot. I tried it many times but never saw any other players :-(. The controls are nice and the powerups were really cool. My favorite was the bouncing one

Surprisingly good sprites in just 13k! I wasn’t able to play with any other players but the mechanics feel solid and it has a nice classic feel.

Played it against my self in two tabs. The game runs and plays well. Great graphics and fitting sound effects. I’m not sure what the green portal does. I also don’t think the bullets should bounce off the walls, because they become too powerful.

The HP didn’t update properly, but I think it’s because the other player didn’t have focus on the window? I’m not sure about the server architecture, but having a copy of the game on the server can probably help with syncing the game correctly between clients? I’m not sure.

I like the power ups we can pick up with extra abilities. Would be fun to play this against a friend.

I liked the graphics a lot! Old school in a modern multiplayer game. Nice! However, there is no way to play alone, and the Desktop category (I would believe) means we should be able to play it also without an opponent online - some AI, enemies or something like that (also implemented serverside to save space) would have made this game playable on desktop category as well.
