A really fun and playable game. Sometimes I feel like click around everywhere. I liked the simple nature of the game and the randomness of the of the bullets fired from and bad guys appearing. good game!

I’m glad you liked it! I also love simple games and their concepts. In fact, during development when I tried to play, the infected had a random person in your army as their destination. Also, their appearance with the robbers was synchronized and each robber could shoot, so it was hardcore… I had to slow down a bit :D.

\n

Still, I’m glad you had fun! Thanks!

Good game! Interesting concept. Pretty simple but fun idea. The only thing that I would recommend, would be to make the mouse more visible. It was difficult to keep track of the mouse.\nCongrats!

Glad to hear! When I first thought of the idea, I actually had a lot more in mind… but time, size (and a bit of laziness) made adjustments every day and night as the deadline approached :), so you could say I didn’t know how it will all look like in the final proposed version :D. But I’m glad that I was able to show you at least one of the many versions of my little world :).

Regarding the cursor - nice catch, thanks for sharing!

neat concept ang graphics.\nThe background could use some more details ;-)\nSometimes my Crusaders stopped moving (when switching keys fast)

Thanks for playing my game and sharing your opinion! At the moment, the background is described only by a gradient, it is dynamic and tries to cycle smoothly, I specifically chose the minimum contrast, because with a higher contrast, the background took away too much attention. At the initial stages, a larger world with its own map was conceived, which would include various elements, but we have what we have :).

\n

Regarding the movement, you are right, as currently only one key is processed at a time, with a larger map, I think moving diagonally would have a much better effect, but in this form - so be it :D, thank you!

I enjoyed this! Lovely simple game, easy to pick up and play (once I re-read who not to kill!)\nMaybe some death sounds, with different types for enemies and civilians?\nThe dialogue snippets got a little repetitive.

Glad to know you liked it! Good point about the sounds! I think it will add some interesting interactivity to the game! It was the first time I made a game in this way, where the archive limit is 13KB. What can I say, I learned a lot and was pleasantly surprised how much can be realized in such a small size. But the sounds…. another time :D, instead, as an alternative, I tried to propose the “exclamations” of the crusaders, but I noticed a bug with repetition already after the release… well… :D.

Thanks for your time and feedback!

I like the concept of driving a whole army. The game is fun to play, controls are easy to understand, it is perfect for a casual game! I was not able to play the game with Edge (blank screen) but I was able to play with Chrome.

Regarding Edge - according to the rules of the game, the contest requires that the game works properly in Chrome and Mozilla in the latest versions, so this game is optimized for these two browsers, the others were not my goal.

I was a bit confused on how to play at first. I thought it was an avoidance game, and only halfway through realized I could fire. The generated voiceovers were a bit jarring when they started rolling out.

When we submitted the game to the competition, we were asked to fill in the game control section, which specified all possible actions, namely: movement and the ability to shoot with the left mouse button.

\n

Agree about the sound, it was done at the last minute, so I didn’t give it enough testing.

fun concept and easy to get into. I think it’s cool that we control an army, and not just 1 character. The game also has a feedback loop I like, the smaller the army becomes, the easier it gets (interestingly enough,) because we can avoid enemies more easily.

\n

I would love some more sound effects and animation/particle effects to better understand what happens in the game, like killed an enemy.

Loved it, but I would have preferred smoother movement and the ability to go diagonally. I assume you are using conditional logic for detecting which button is pressed, allowing them simultaneously would be a better experience.

Would have also preferred sound effects.

Very strange. Please try in a new tab, Chrome and Mozilla are supported. It also happens that it is buggy to open the game in voting-mode, so it would be great to try to open it in normal mode, that is, here - https://js13kgames.com/entries/crusaders-and-their-journeys

Nice idea to control a whole army and move them together. Very innovative. However, I think this mechanic needs some tweaking. It felt a bit cumbersome to move all of them and was very difficult to doge bullets and enemies. Maybe making the size of the army a bit smaller would help or just have a bit less enemies. It would have been great if you would have mentioned in your introduction which color are the civilians and which are the enemies. It is not very intuitive that you have to shoot the green guys :).\nThe voice was hilarious :D. The shoutout were really fun and it sounded like the voice which was used for it was not English. Maybe it was German because of my German operating system. Maybe something to investigate further, but it was at least very funny for me :).\nAnway, this is still a solid entry! Congratulations to this game.

Regarding the army, namely its number, as you rightly noticed, it is very difficult for you to dodge from the beginning, it is almost impossible and vice versa, if your army has already been tortured a little and its number has decreased, then it is much easier to dodge - as one of the players nicely noticed - this is a kind of “feedback loop” (whatever that means but sounds cool :D).

\n

In fact, when the contest first started, I thought about the idea of the game for about a week, but when I started to implement it, everything did not go as planned :), I had to change so many decisions along the way… I literally replaced one mechanic with another, and when something did not work or required much more time, just changed the idea to 361 degrees :D. Well, I didn’t know what would come out of all this chaos :).

\n

Regarding the description of colors - agreement. About the sound - added in the last hour :), glad you had fun!

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!!!!
