\nHelp Billy to overcome his 13 different phobias by playing 9 different chapters in a simple 2D dungeon crawler with arcade style battles.
\nPlay with mouse and keyboard. Using a trackpad is probably going to be very difficult
\nWASD or Arrow keys to move around
\nMouse to aim
\nLeft mouse button to fire
\nRight mouse button or Space to glide on the floor to avoid taking damage
\nE to throw bombs
\nPlease notice that the game is quite dark in some areas so it’s recommended to not play in broad daylight or in a very lit room.
\nThere are three different difficulty levels. Easy, Normal and Hard. The difference is a balance between more enemies with more health, bombs with lesser range and faster boss mechanics. In hard difficulty you will get more bombs because you really need them.
\nBelow the courage meter there is a mini map of the current level. Green is the exit. Blue is the room you are in currently. Plan your journey trough the level by going in the opposite direction of the exit so you don’t have to run back and forth if you are reaching the exit too early.
\nIf you quit the game and return later it will remember the chapter you last played and continue from there but all levels are random generated so the level layout and also some room layouts will be different from every play.

I like the art style a lot and the concept was good. I felt the collision detection was a little off. If I have to dodge a lot of things, I think you should make the hitbox really small, like a couple pixels in the center. Still really enjoyed the game though. Got really far but then couldn’t build enough courage to progress.

There is no downside to just leave it firing continuously, and the fire rate is so high that all you have to do is walk.
\nI don’t particularly like maps where you find the exit, but can’t take it yet because (in your case, there is not enough courage built up) … makes it so you have to walk back to the start and then return in now empty rooms. This is a personal opinion, and it is quite ok to have them this way if it is by design.
\nOn the bright side … the bomb is 100% amazing! the fact that the enemies are rather dumb and come together only makes the bomb more awesome than it already is. There is a bug where if you throw across walls, it just flies way away.

There needed to be a reload time or some pause in the shooting. It did not feel dangerous with a constant stream of bullets protecting you. The physics on the bombs was a little funny sometimes. They would go in the wrong direction from time to time. I like the dynamic lighting.

\nAll really well made.
\nThe lighting is very well done, lots of good pixel art. I like the mini map, changing enemies and tie in with the theme.
\nIf I was being picky, Id have said to zoom in the view a little, have have upgrades on the weapon and let you plough through the enemies quicker, might be more satisfying. Corridors also allowed me to cheat a little and hide from enemies, or maybe this is a valid tactic.
\nGreat entry and lots packed into the 13kb!

You should call .preventDefault() on all keyboard events to prevent this.
Excellent pixel art, love the pixel overlay effect, reminds me of Deepknight’s jam entries! Excellent dungeon crawler, I enjoyed it.

\nThe graphics were great, love the pixel sprites.
\nThe skulls were everywhere so I’m glad they weren’t enemies.
\nThe boss clown was a bit evil, spawning those mini clowns, and what was that red stuff they were shooting?
\nI’m glad the shots were infinite, as I just kept on holding down the mouse and whizzing around.
\nThe levels were well made and challenging, and the lighting worked quite well to create a phobia type environment.

The lighting is awesome and it feels good playing. I enjoyed my time quite so much that I managed to reach the end.
\nIf I had to give some feedback, it would be using the actual -phobia names for each fear (arachnophobia, triskaidekaphobia, etc etc). But in general I think the idea of beating your fears and link that with your health (to “build up courage”) is awesome. Good job! :)
