Objective is not really well explained. I think I had to kill some monsters to be able to open doors.\nJump is a bit inconsistent as we go really high but not much ahead.\nmonsters are quite hard when they hit and death animation is a bit long in my opinion.

Technically pretty good, I found the controls a little janky though. An option to disable camera shaking would have been nice.as well. Nice simple pixel graphics!

This looks like a great pixel art platformer with ledge grabbing. It looks great and shooting the arrows is cool too.

I couldn’t get past the part where I started to see a square ghost-looking thing. Maybe it doesn’t work on Firefox but I didn’t know what to do. I don’t know how to kill those weird black enemies. It seems like I need to shoot them with their backs turned on me but they come back alive again. So it’s confusing and frustrating when I die because It’s not clear whether I’m doing something wrong or right.

There seems to be a blood effect to the arrow no matter if it hits something or not.

I wanted to love this, but the frame rate was too high for me to play well I think? Really cool and polished shooting animation, awesome pixel art. I couldn’t get by even the first enemy though, everything was super-fast. Chrome on Ubuntu Linux.

This game looks really impressive although minimalist. The tunes are really smooth and the animations are cute. But I couldn’t understand the goal, or progress much. I reached a door that wouldn’t open and that’s that.\nI don’t see how this gits the theme either.

I really liked this entry. It has simple graphics but a cool looking character, camera shake, quite a bit of juice.

In terms of areas to improve, I’d polish the platforming (I could not reach the second checkpoint), combat (found the first enemy to be oddly difficult to fight, took me 3 tries), and the shaky camera (it felt like it was often moving to the right then readjusting back to the left).

Pretty decent sidescroller with cool effects (screen shake, etc).

I like the animation and effects a lot, and the enemies aren’t so bad either.

It would have been nice to have a little more info to start with, but at the same time was kinda cool to figure out what a few things in the game did.

I haven’t been able to finish the first level, the character control is too hard. It’s moving too fast and it’s really difficult to be precise. Sadly I don’t see the link to the theme at the moment. But the graphics and the music are cool and I’m sad to not seeing more of it!

I enjoyed the music, and the game had a decent vibe, but I struggled to figure out what to do with the ghost/text bubble thingy. The theme escapes me. Personally, I’m not a fan of the UP button being jump, but to each their own.

Nice pixel art and general design, fun with nice enemies. The controls and jumping are fine but could be a little slower, this would give you the feeling of being more in control. The jump has quite a high arch.

I like the auto climb and shooting, the enemies are cute and quite tough to work out, like how they sleep and get back up. The doors are a nice save point and have a cool animation. Also nice to see some screen shake!

Not sure how the theme fits in here but still a good entry.

Great little game, I loved the graphics, the animation and the sounds.

Once I learned you could double jump things got a bit easier, although the first enemy which shot green goo didn’t seem to be defeatable.

I came across a door which I couldn’t shoot open so wasn’t sure if there was another game mechanic other than the double jump that I was yet to discover by trial an error?

Not sure what the connection was to 13 or fear of 13. But still an impressive platformer all in all.

Intuitive controls. Cute 8-bit graphics, love the music too.

Great platform, the screen moves around a little too much, making it a touch jarring for the player. Would be good to have lives or something at the top. Love that if you die, it restarts at a point rather than at the start - very classic of platformers. The first enemy was wayyyyy too hard to kill for a first encounter. I also died by running into something invisible (maybe “off the screen”). The second door didn’t open for me. Maybe the character moves a little jarring too.

Overall cute graphics, nice music, and sound effects that fit well within the game.

Not quite sure how this fits into the theme though. Some explanation at the start would have been helpful.

I beat the game! (I think?) Nice job! This was a fun short platformer. Very nice pixel art, including ledge climbing animations, which you don’t often see in js13k games. The music and sound was also nice. Well done!

I like how the player moves (and stretches) and can latch onto edges. The fire animation is cool too. I appreciate the screen shake, but I feel it’s too much right now.

The game was different from what I thought by looking at the Thumbnail. I think the thumbnail could have been an in-game screenshot, and it would look more attractive.

I wasn’t able to get past checkpoint 2. I tried to look at the other comments on this page to look for hints, but I’m still not sure what to do.
