CLAWZ: (Im)prove your catness
\nIn a distant future most black cats have been eradicated since they are considered bad luck.
\nOnly a handful of black cats have survived, by training and honing their fighting skills in CLAWZ: the Cat Learning Augmented War Zone, an advanced XR environment.
\nYou are one of the last black cats alive. Use your claws to slice virtual targets in order boost your cat reflexes. The more the slices, the higher the score, the greater your chances to survive as a black cat.
\nDifferent target colors have different effects as you’ll soon find out. Get slicing!

\nIt is not obvious that controllers won’t work and that we have to use hands. Hands do not work very well on the headset model I have, especially with rapid movement required by the game. As a consequence, I was able to play only a few seconds.
\nHowever, while playing, although I understood that we had to smash the cubes coming that changed color, I did not understand what were the other elements like the white cube, the purple grid and the yellow plane. I managed to get the hands working again ignoring the coming cubes, but I did not understand how to interact with those elements. I did not see where the score was presented.
\nBecause of all that, I have nothing interesting to comment about the game.

But that did not seem to do much but turning blue boxes orange and after a while they seemed to randomly appear very fast almost on top of me, so I could not hit anything. Not very much on theme.
\nI thought it had potential, but was in the end very rough and hardly playable.

Later, after reading a comment, I realized it had to be played using the hands. Even then, it still wasn’t completely clear what I was supposed to do — I could interact with the cubes, but I wasn’t sure what the actual goal or progress was. Maybe adding some kind of feedback when interacting with the cubes to show the exact effect would make it feel more intuitive and effective.\nPretty nice logo btw

The hand tracking works ok once I figured out I needed to put down the controllers. Wasn’t sure if there was a score or what to do after I hit some boxes. Looks like a good start but still some room to add gameplay and polish.

In terms of gameplay, it is missing some key features such as scoring, which would add structure and replay value. Adding sound would also improve the overall experience. Regarding controls, the game did not work well on my Quest 2, so refining compatibility and responsiveness would be important for accessibility.
