A game of skill, luck, and lots of sugar.
\nYour goal is simple: get the candy. The problem? A black cat stands in your way, and the universe is ready to unleash comical chaos upon you.
\nCan you beat bad luck itself?

Remembering which path the cats took was a fun challenge. The failure lines are funny.
\nI wish the movement controls went faster. It’s nice that you can queue up movement before the animation finishes, but often I’d forget the correct path while waiting for the character to move.

And the speech output is cool at first, but gets a bit annoying soon. The texts themselves are great by the way :-)\nGood entry for the gamejam!

As someone else mentioned, the queueing of the keys makes me go into the wrong spaces more often than not. Still, enjoyed quit a bit the game, great job

One thing that could help: being able to replay the cats’ animation before failing, to better memorize the sequence. Controls sometimes feel unresponsive (up to 1s delay), which can trigger extra moves you didn’t intend.

\nIt’s a really cool idea and has a nice light touch. I got stuck on level 4 - how the heck do I get past it!?

I wanted to hold a key down and have him continue walking that direction. And there was a substantial lag between pressing the key and the start of motion, makes it feel a bit disjoint.
\nI’d have left out the text-to-speech, but maybe that’s just me. Thanks for providing an Off switch for the speech!

It’s possible you put these things in to add to a level of distraction and make it harder to pay attention to the cats as they walked around but at times there was still a message with a red background on screen while the cat was walking its path so I couldn’t see for certain where it had walked as it was partially or completely covered by the message and background, and the TTS was quite distracting and I turned it off after the 2nd level.

While I appreciate them being there, it’s too much after a short while. Music is fine if a bit somber. The puzzles are interesting though as they add in complexity it seems you are expected to die as you can’t really be expected to keep your eyes on all the cats. Which is fine, if a bit frustrating when you have to redo the level multiple times. All in all, fair play.

\nI liked the music
\nA few times I apparently crossed the path when near the box, but others not, even though I went round the back compared to where the cat entered the box
\nThe movements felt a bit slow, and it felt like the talking slowed it down
\nWay, way, too much talking

\nI loved your explanation at the start “Easy to learn, hard to master!” You were definitely right there. Such an interesting concept. Super frustrating (in a good way, made me want to keep playing!).
\nI enjoyed all the sound effects (the little cat meows), and the voice over was very cool. Music fits in nicely with the theme.
\nAt first I thought it would be good to have slightly smoother movement, but with the aim of the game, it makes sense to have the character move block by block. I might have glitched it too by clicking too many times. Not sure what the exact solution is here, but making it a little less jerky is a great idea.
\nGreat job!

\nI also enjoyed how more black cats obstructed the players path in further levels.
\nHaving the player as game commentator was also very entertaining and a unique feature I would not have thought to add.
\nOverall a very creative entry - nice one!

I loved the little eyes in the background, the smooth animation, the color palette, and it’s great that there’s voice acting.\nThe controls felt a bit unintuitive at times - it was easy to misclick, and the sun glare on the map was occasionally distracting since I already had to keep a close watch on the kittens.\nThanks for such an engaging game - it really hooks you in! 😺🎮

\nYou did a great job with this - I enjoyed the gameplay, the controls, AND the humor. The controls having language like “Up again?” made me chuckle.
\nAlso the subtle animations both inside the gameplay and outside (such as cat eyes) made it constantly engaging.
\nI really don’t have much feedback for this game. You get a 5/5 star for my vote!

\nI wish there was a fading trail left behind by the cat that disappears gradually as time speeds up with each level. That would make it easier for players to follow along without getting lost.
\nReally well made and executed, I had fun playing!
