I’d image it would be easier on a phone using the finger instead of a mouse, but that’s just a guess.
\nI think the game would benefit from being able to paddle and capture ghosts at the same time. Then I wouldn’t have to stop to capture the ghosts. Maybe we could use “A” and “D” to control which side of the boat we place our scythe, and then automatically pick up ghosts as we paddle our way through them. I’m not sure if that would be better, but I think it would keep the flow going.
\nThe graphics and sound effects are good.

Playing on a laptop without a mouse means I had to cross my hands to play. An easy solution would be to allow using A/D keys besides arrow keys. It would also help if there was a key I could press to switch tools. The drag-to-paddle was nice though.\nThe graphics were a bit glitchy at times, with the HUD flashing now and then, and the water animation jumping.\nBut technically speaking, I think this game is really impressive and a great achievement. I’ve no idea how the water is implemented but it looked really cool. The whole aesthetics of the game was very well executed.\nRegarding game play, I think the first shop should appear much earlier to engage players more. When I reached the first shop all I could buy was “memory storage”, which costed me all my heard-earning memories, and it felt useless. It didn’t make me want to play if it meant waiting so long for the next shop to actually be able to buy nice things. Storage expansion should be an item that power-players buy to be able to continue playing higher levels, not the first thing players have to buy.

I also enjoyed the controls, the paddling controls felt close to real paddling (well as close as you could get with a mouse).
\nI wouldn’t switch paddling to different keys, like others are saying I like that you have to switch between them and thus increasing the difficulty it takes to capture those ghosts. I like that its not to easy, paddling, catching ghosts and avoiding the obstacles was hard but manageable.
\nOne thing that wasn’t clear to me is when and where to purchase upgrades, like you wrote in the description. Maybe you could make that more clear in the UI.

\nWhen I first played I ended up clicking multiple times on the paddle on each side to get the boat to steer, until I realised I could hold the mouse and drag left/right. I quickly ran out of power.
\nI also didn’t pick up straight away that I had to switch between steering and grabbing. Once I got it though the game was more playable. Maybe have 2 different keys for the functions rather than one key to switch and one for action.
\nThe lava looked really good, as did the 3D landscape. The ghosts could maybe improved.

\nThe game itself is fun but I think the controls might hold it back a little bit. It almost feels like there is too much to do. I was playing on a trackpad which probably affected it but maybe figuring out an easier way to move / collect souls so you dont have to be clicking all of the time on something could be interesting?
\nI do like the shop and the shopkeeper, really nice addition to the game. The different colour souls is a nice touch too. I didnt find it too tough to survive and keep collecting souls so maybe there could be some other obstacles or something to make the travelling a little more interesting as opposed to focusing on moving all the time. Once you have figured out the movement, the game becomes a little more easy. Maybe I missed something in there so apologies if I did!
