Black Cat: 9 Lives is a fast-paced neon arcade survival game where you play as a sleek black cat with nine lives. Your mission? Collect as much glowing cheese as you can while avoiding packs of angry, glowing-eyed dogs.

\nCollect Cheese 🧀: Each piece gives you +1 score.
\nSurvive ❤️: You start with 9 lives; each hit from a dog costs one.
\nLevel Up 🚀: Grab 10 cheese per level to advance. Each new level brings new colors, faster enemies, and a different melody.
\nExtra Lives âž•: Every 10 points, you gain an extra life (up to 18 max).

Nothing wrong with that necessarily, but sometimes it resets into a kind of cheap position. Last time I played, I spawned directly on a dog and immediately died. :(

\nA very minor issue, but as its part of the theme, traditionally it’s mice that eat cheese rather than cats but I suppose it would be a very cat-like thing to do to deny mice something they like by eating all their cheese!

\nThe sweeping particles were good
\nWhen the cheese was on a yellow background it was harder to see
\nI got quite far and had 19 lives at one point but one hit and I was completely dead?
\nIt was nice to have audio, but it got a bit repetitive and was a little too random to become catchy, however the speed up between levels was a nice touch
\nFor me this fairly easy to get the 10 per level, the dogs were easy to get passed, having more didn’t make it harder until the level changeover when they were placed randomly

\nI found it too easy for me though, I just kept receiving extra lives and the dogs are not too hard to avoid so it didn’t feel challenging enough. Also, I don’t get why I’m collecting cheese as a cat. Cats don’t like cheese, mice do!
\nThe music was nice and fits the theme, the sound effects are very retro and a bit too loud and grating after a while.
\nI would have liked some more variety, powerups, different type of enemies, maybe a boss fight, etc. as you had plenty of space left to include more stuff but well done finishing a nice little relaxing game!

\nGreat work on this - very smooth controls and liked the audio. The only thing that I think could really be improved that would make a big difference is the transition between levels. After acquiring the 10th cheese going to the next level is a little bit jarring. I would recommend having a full 2-3 seconds in between so the player can see the level setup and adjust their fingers.
