While exploring an ancient underground labyrinth, intrepid adventurer T’reze found a sword. As he wielded it, it clung to the young man’s hand and a sinister voice echoed in his mind: “I am XIII and the more souls you sacrifice to feed me, the more power I will give you. This sword represents my appetite and if it’s fire goes out, I will be hungry and I will take your soul.” The power granted by XIII pleased the adventurer for a while, but the deaths he was forced to cause began to take a toll on his sanity. Now, T’reze goes to the lair of Dreizehn, the wicked necromancer who created the cursed sword, whose soul is the only thing that can satiate XIII forever. The risk, however, is great: while inside the necromancer’s tower, the artifact’s hunger will be even more brutal.

Naturally, I hated the REVERSE room! Glad you put some decent audio in there. I wish there was an option to remove the blood from the equations, I had a couple of rooms that were too messy! Hmm, maybe that was by design.. Good entry either way. I encourage other players/makers to play these games out of order! Seems a bit unfair that the early game are getting all the plays and comments!

It’s great that you added both music and sfx. The explosion sfx worked well, but the “swing sword” sfx didn’t fit. I was expecting a “swish/swosh” sound (if that makes sense.)
\nThe reverse room was difficult, and I kept loosing HP over time. Not sure if that was intended or not.

You should call .preventDefault() on all keyboard events to prevent this.

\nThe aiming mechanism can be improved, making it more accurate for the player to targer the enemies.
\nI think you could adjust the difficulty of the first room to allow players to adapt to the game and ramp up familiarity on how to eliminate enemies.
\nNot too sure whether the room on the left is supposed to invert controls and pose as a challenge to the player, or was it a bug.
\nOverall, good attempt!

\nI liked the graphics style and the ticking like a heartbeat music.
\nI seemed to die really easily, there was a lot of enemies spawning away.
\nThe fireballs were good, but took ages to cast. The melee was also good, but I had to spam the mouse, perhaps holding the button down would be good enough to continue swiping?
