A cozy little game set in the 13th century of North America. Visit villagers, gather resources, and gain new abilities as you gather all 13 drums.

\n

(Honestly, I just hope you have as much fun running around making music as I did)

Cool graphics, love the day night cycle! Without being able to turn, the game became too frustrating. I also picked up an item when I wasn’t sure what it would do, then figure out i had to give to someone. I had to walk all over until someone who needed it came into my screen. I should be able to swap out items too. Also, you don’t really need a sprint button, just make the character move that fast.

\n

I think with those tweaks I would have really enjoyed it. Still very cool look, feel, and sound!

Clearly a lot of work went into sound design. Speeding up the walk sound effect when sprinting is a neat find! The schematic people, too, are cool.

i like the graphics (especially the 3d-look), and the nice clean sounds. A moon-cycle! Ha, very nice :-)

\n

By the way: you should have added much more of your readme into the game-description.\nSo if any of our fellow devs is giving feedback on this game, have a look here:\nhttps://github.com/js13kGames/13-Drums/blob/main/readme.md

\n

It would be very good, if the player could turn around, currently most of the time tha caracter has to walk in a direction in which the player can not see.\nAnd my little finger hurts from pressing [shift] all the time. is there any point in using walking-speed?

Looks very interesting, but I got lost very early. Could use a guide.

G’day!

\n

I finally got to the end, it wasn’t easy :)

\n

I liked the sky, both the day, which is iridescent with gradients, and the night, which is covered with stars. Attention was even paid to the phases of the moon, which shows attention to detail - nice! The animation of the day / night change was also amusing.

\n

The game looks quite interesting, nice simple graphics and good music.

\n

Regarding the gameplay - I did not immediately understand that some elements, such as “branches” and “trees” are interactive, I accidentally learned about it when the mouse pointer worked, most of the items were intuitively understandable, but some still did not immediately reflect the accuracy of what is expected. There was also a time when I filled all my free slots with items that are no longer accepted by villagers, in which case it would be appropriate to display a message about the loss, or add a mechanic to free the slot, in any case, I did not see any of this.

\n

When I won, the win text appears at the bottom, but I can still press the “Esc” button and then the info text merges with the win text.

\n

Although the game is interesting and thoughtful, the theme is very generic, lacking any particular resonance between the 13th century…

\n

In my opinion, it would look more fun if the process of collecting livestock was based on hunting, for example shooting with a bow at running cattle :)

\n

In any case, the game interested me enough, although I had to run around a bit :), thanks!

Nice sounds, the running is cool and I like how it affects the music. The day / night switch over is great and can see a lot of thought went into the graphics.

\n

I cannot work out what to do other than run about, I clicked on people and saw a green circle, not sure why they are running off when I do that?

\n

I think it sounds and looks good, just confused to what I need to do?

This took very long to load, and I don’t think it really finished loading, at least clicking didn’t do anything, though it said to click to start.

Interesting concept and design. Liked the way the character turns around, subtle but cool.

Phew! Lit up all 13 drums. Man, that second to last one was a chore. I had just finished delivering the 3 flowers to the center, and all I had left was a buffalo to 8 o’clock… which meant basically a whole full ’nother circle around. rage intensifies

\n

It was pretty, and I dug the vibe the music grooved, but if you really want to be cozy, I think the map was probably twice as large as it needed to be, and maybe you didn’t need the full circle moat, making the player walk all the way around for everything. Also, I stubbed my toe on practically everything, even the little rocks. I’m not sure you actually needed collision on anything other than the terrain in this one. I also couldn’t successfully get rid of any unwanted items, which was anxiety inducing. I ended the game still dragging an extra deer carcass around like an anchor.

\n

I think if you went back and did a V2 of this, my advice would be let the player set the pace instead of drawing it out with space. It’s cool, I’ll stop and groove with the drums for a bit.

Nice little puzzle game. I really liked the 3D optics of the game especially that you see the curvature of the world and the night and day cycle. The bisons are also very cute.\nI think a bit more explanation at the beginning or to make it more straight forward where to go after the first three villagers would have helped. It was not very obvious that the way continues at the back right where you started. Took me a while to find out.\nAnyway, congratulations to a nice game!

I hate that I have to ding it. But I’m frustrated that this is obviously an awesome game… but I can’t figure out how to play it. I can interact with two villagers and they just move to the fire. without a word - perhaps that’s they culture - cool. But then nothing happens. No music. No drums. Is my browser broken? Am I not going far enough around the map. UGH.

\n

Now the good stuff. I love the moon cycle and the animations. The graphics are simple but good. And, the movement is cool.

\n

To others about to play - definitely check out the readme - https://github.com/js13kGames/13-drums

Maybe I’m just not good at this game (can’t seem to get past what’s after the first three villagers!)

\n

Gameplay is a little scruffy, as in its easy to get stuck and not know where to go next. I like how clean the graphics are, and the level of smoothness with the moving character.

\n

I think what might be helpful is to add tips and tricks on if players get stuck. The audio gives a sense of mystery to the game, which lends to trying to figure out what the player has to do next.

Looks like a fun little adventure game, although I did struggle a bit to understand what I was supposed to do. I was able to interact with some villagers, but didn’t quite understand how to interact with/help others. Perhaps some in-game tutorial text, maybe on some signs around the villages, or when clicking on a villager?

Really impressive game.\nSo many details like sky, day and night, sounds, items, trees

\n

Really good visual style.\nGame itself are really interesting when you are reseaching all options. After some time it became a little boring, but enviroment are awesome.

\n

Good job!
