Space Exploration (2021)

Explore the space by traveling from planet to planet. Just click (or tap) or press the spacebar in the right moment to leave the orbit for another planet.

Different types of planets will add challenges to your exploration or help you in being more successful.

The more successful you are, the more coins you get; these coins will unlock different spacecrafts for your next explorations. WebMonetization users get (almost) exclusive access to an additional spacecraft.

Fullscreen and music can be toggled by clicking/tapping the icons, or by pressing "f" or "m".

The music is based on extracts of Gustav Holst’s “The Planets”.

Feedback from the experts

Pablo Farías Navarro: Very impressive game! Had a bit of fun jumping from planet to planet. Also really good UX and good mobile support. The one detail that I'd bring up is that the ship looks blurry. I know getting canvas sprites to show crispy is hard (in fact I don't even know how to do it these days) but it's just a small detail. Also, on desktop, maybe extend the stars to fill up the screen to the sides. Amazing work and thanks for participating of js13kgames! :)

Nathan Lie: Simple game with a clever challenge. The different types of planets help keep the game from getting too repetitive, and the Web Monetization feature is nice in that it's "almost" exclusive. I like offering the trade-off between supporting the developer for an extra bonus or working at it by playing their game a lot.

Ewa Mazur: Cool planet types. Nice that there is info if I'm a Coil subscriber but unfortunately the bonus doesn't work (at least for me under FF). I like the atmosphere made by the music, very nice graphics. If the points earned would be displayed immediately on the gameplay it would be more dynamic.

Björn Ritzl: Nice idea! I really like how the different planets have an impact on the game. I think more could be done in this department. +1 on the Coil integration!
