Feedback
Congrats on the game! The things I liked the most were the controls. The attacks feel pretty good!
Also loved the transparency effect on the trees.
Can I just say.. your game is class as always. For 13kb, this is amazing.
Theme - 5/5 capturing the 13th century and the narrative embedded with the game itself. You can play this game blind without reading any documents outside the game and you can learn how to play the game.
Gameplay - I like how it guides the player from the beginning - teaching basic controls and slowly increasing the tempo of the game. Players can skip if they want to. Stamina bar is also a nice touch to add some realism to gameplay.
Having a restarted game to the last checkpoint is something that you don't see in a 13kb game. I was relieved!
Graphics - walk into water, your character slows down. Wind, rain, moving grass, lightning. Nice additions to the environment. The slow-mo killing of last enemy is also a great touch.
Control - the field of vision is a helpful implementation, esp for 2d hack & slash rougelike games. This is really good.
I think being able to swap weapons would be nice to create variation in gameplay?
So amazing! I really enjoyed this one! All the tiny lovely details like that he gets dizzy from rolling too much or that he sinks into the water or or or ;) Just great!
The combat in the game is really nice! The snappy attacks together with dodge rolling and the precision blocking makes for some really fun and active gameplay. Really good job there!
The only feedback I'd have is on the visuals. For the characters, they're simplistic and nice, although they could have a bit more variety. For the environment they could've been a bit more interesting. However, that is nitpicking a bit since the game has to stay quite small of course.
All in all, really nice game! Great job!
I love the amount of mobility you gave the player! It does, however, trivialize the gameplay a bit, since nothing is able to chase you bunny-hopping across the screen. They're unable to land a single hit if you kite, long press, then space-space-space out of range. I guess the emperor should have a rifle or something to compensate :)
Nice game I enjoyed playing it!!
A very solid game, simple but aesthetically very pleasing graphics with shadows on everything. (For me) a bit hard to control, but the controls looked cool to. Nice touches with nearby trees going transparant and dropping down and slowing down in water.
Tintin! LOL
This is a well though out fun game.
I love all the little touches, from the rain and the grass swaying to the ripples on the water.
The music was pretty funky and had a good beat to it.
I've never been a mouse and keyboard combo player, I like to use either one or the other or a gamepad, but your control system worked well.
Was I supposed to be able to defeat the dummies on the tutorial or the characters who appeared? The hit scores which I assume were percentages never seemed to go above 90% for me so the targets of my attacks seemed to never be defeated.
When I played the first time it came up with a hint to follow the path to the right, but the further I went along it the further it continued without arriving anywhere, was the path endless?
Probably the most complete game I've played. Give yourself another 2 - 3 months of development and add to a web publishing site like poki or Crazy Games and make money on it.
Biggest things to improve:
- Much more enemy types
- Cooldowns on flips (just one second is ok)
- More levels
- More costumes
Historians might enjoy it especially with my high score.
A masterpiece in 13KBs. Great job, so much attention to detail...
A well executed game, 5 stars on everything. The amount of work put in this game is astonishing.
And don't get me started on all the juice. From the water drops to the perfect block, everything is carefully thought of.
It's difficult to think of improvements, because everything works well together. Adding one more type of enemy, like a pikeman or an archer is the only thing I can think of. Good job on this one.
love it! Great Tutorial and really engaging to play. I want to play again Theme - possibly the least. Not super imaginative but swords and shields!
Gameplay - I would give 6 stars. so so good. ... wait, did you do this all in one month? It's so good, I suspect you of cheating. (which I'm sure you didn't but it's that good, is all I'm sayin) Audio - great. Inno - The gameplay is innovative too me. But I don't play many games like this.
Graphics - well done and the cohesive nature of all the elements is great Controls - smooth and intuitive Well done Sir!
Love the tutorial, great style and execution, well polished and well balanced!
Towards the end it got a little repetitive, I wished there was a little more variety, maybe a ranged enemy that would have made blocking a more important mechanic.
Everything are well polished, especially the graphics. I noticed there are many intricately processed details. The entity provide me a nice user experience. The difficulty is just suitable for me.
It's hard to imagine a piece of work like this can be done within 13kb! Well done!
Cool. This RPG can get you hooked on farming eternity. The controls are good. The gameplay is well-done. The graphics for an canvas game are amazing. And most importantly, I checked the source code, and the game is written clearly and professionally.
Nice Good music, and translations animations water effects and all the bells and whistles
Exceptional entry in all aspects, really enjoyed playing through. Graphics, controls, sounds and camera all great.
Lots of nice features well implemented, could be a bigger game for sure.
Well done, can see this making the top entries!
Great game! The grass swaying and birds flying by were all nice touches! The perfect block and slain slow downs with the smoke and blood particles were super satisfying!
It would have been very helpful if the player character would have stood out just all around, and also didn't look the same as the enemies. Like give my dude a golden sword and royal blue shield and red tunic or whatever. Especially with how the player dashes towards whoever he hits, it's very easy to loose track of your character.
Also I was able to take away about 90% of the kings health while the game with in the level transition screen :)
I really loved this game though. Sort of a dark souls wave fighter. It's satisfying, polished, and really cool!
nice, i wish you should've told me go the right path that was infinite.
Really good game! I like the rainy atmosphere and the fight gameplay. The tutorial is also very good!
High level of polish. It feels like a real game! I would have loved the ability to take enemy weapons or unlock new abilities or something to add some variety
very nice work on several aspects of the game I'd like to point some of what could make things improved there is a pause scene but no menu scene player would like to start directly instead of having to go through tutorial everytime need a way to mute music, its nice but some quite would be nice sounds can be separate from music so gameplay can still have sound the map is very nice with trees water and rain I plan to check the code later for some insights as for gameplay its a bit too easy to be op and could have some progression like have levels and spend points on stats for improved skills not gona repeat same hints from other feedbacks but I second them all good luck
Great Job! good game with tutorial, good controls and interesting mechanics, simple, but good and unique visual style. Principle is simple, but it's a high quality game. Also this duels-like mechanics of block, avoiding and stunning are very good. I like this attention to details - thunderbolts, moving in water, grass, transparent trees. Really nice work.
A very well executed game! Would be nice to save my game. The shadows are really cool, and the NPCs are very smart!
One of the first, and one of the best. This is a very complete game, and the graphics are astonishing. I'm very curious to review the code on github, and honestly there is no fault to be had with this game. Superb work!
Perfect, one of my favorites so far!
So impressive in complexity, audio, visuals and fun. I was trying to play with my trackpad and wasn't finding great success, so I had to get a mouse. Just awesome, how polished and complete the whole thing feels.
Also, I love fitting a tutorial in 13k - just great.
Very slick production, I aspire to create something half as good :)
The game is full of features and is incredibly polished.
From advanced fight mechanics (light and strong attacks, blocking, dodging, stunning), through telegraphing enemy attacks to such small details like trees getting transparent to not block the sight or moving grass.
It's definitely one of my favorite entries.
Very smooth! The game controls few very natural, and after a few seconds of playing I already felt like a pro. Very fun game.
Very polished, the right amount of difficulty. This game is in my top 10 for sure.
A lot of great stuff going on in this game. Smooth controls, love the graphics, and pretty intuitive. Great job.
Great approachable gameplay coupled with great music and sound. I love the little graphical flourishes, like the swaying trees or the rain droplets on the lakes. A wonderful game!
A fun adventure with great music. Feels well made and polished!
Controls were tight, gameplay was excellent (though repetitive after the first 3 waves). I wish there was some sort of upgrade system / path of growing the player. Overall an great experience!
Loved from the first sight. Nice entry tutorial, great movements and beauty slow zoomed camera.
It's packed with great details: the trees fading when you cross behind them, the little animations, the lighting, the infinite map... great job!
On the minus side - I found it awkward to control the mouse, and perhaps it would be nice if you could just skip some waves - if you continue walking past one you get trapped by the next waves until you have to fight them (or simply block a portion of the screen to make you fight). Otherwise you can walk forever and nothing happens :)
