We usually ship js13kGames t-shirts and gadgets in the first few months of the year — last time it was the end of February, so being able to say “it’s done” in the middle of December is quite the achievement.

This is something we’ve been doing for a few years now, but it never actually went outside of direct emails and our Slack, so I think it’s worth documenting in a blog post.

We’ve announced the winners of the js13kGames 2023 competition some time ago already, but it’s worth to expand on the results a bit more — with criteria based rankings and some favourite games from the experts.

We’re banding together to collect the best js13kGames tunes and create the first ever js13kGames Community Soundtrack as an ongoing community project — and you’re welcome to add your music as well.

We’ve received 163 games this year. Thank you and congratulations to every single one of you who made it! Now it’s time to vote and pick the winners — play and give feedback to your fellow devs and their entries!

After a few years of talking about it we were finally able to open an online shop with all the designs from previous editions of the competition, so you can update your collection accordingly!

We’ve decided to open the Decentralized category during this year’s js13kGames competition a bit — there are no specific challenges, and you don’t even need to use any blockchain technologies to qualify.
