The winners of the tenth edition of the js13kGames competition have been announced. Here’s a brief overview of the final rankings, including top games for the given criteria – and our experts’ personal favorites.

Similar to last year, we’re going to have an Awards Ceremony this year as well – to announce the winners, but also showcase interesting entries, share experts’ feedback, win swag in a quiz, and much more.

Roadroller was a big hit in this year’s js13kGames competition — the tool helped many developers squeeze in extra kilobytes into their entries. Its author, Kang Seonghoon, agreed to write all about it.

You can now vote on the games submitted this year, and experts will start providing feedback on your games. The voting will run until October 4th.

The submit form is finally open, along with an addition — the “Unfinished” category — for those of you who did not quite complete their game but still want to share its progress with the world.

We released Triskaidekaphobia – a hyper casual mobile game promoting the js13kGames competition – ca. 2014. With the tenth edition on the horizon, we wanted to revive the original concept, but properly this time.

We’re trying to improve and grow the competition every single year — and the big news for 2021 is the introduction of a new category: Decentralized.

Once again we’ll be hosting an online Kick-off, an Awards Ceremony, and a special introductory workshop, but we’re moving them to a new home on the Meetup platform. Come and join us on August 13th.
